Beware!!

I just wanted to share an experience I had with a sister company to Ecs tunning. I was looking a a quick jack for the mini… it’s basically a hydraulic lift like a shop has but it only lifts the car 20” off the ground. Plenty for the mini and it’s electric and portable.

Now most places want 1500.00 but I was on line and found a company selling it for 1250.00 I called the company (Rinnline) to see if they had them in stock and was told that they drop ship them from parts geek their sister company and that they have 9 in stock and I should have it next week if I ordered now.
so I placed my order and waited patiently till the following Tuesday which was a week and I hadn’t gotten a tracking number yet. So I called to inquire about the lift and was told that it ships from their mother company ECS tunning, that they didn’t have any in stock and that ECS told them that they can’t sell it to me for that price
they said ECS sets the price and that I would have to pay 1500.00 if I still wanted it. As you was talking to them I looked online and found an add for the same quick jack 3500 form ECS for1275.00. Ten line said that ECS didn’t have any instack and it would be at a month before they got any in .

I hung up on them and called ECS. They told me that they had 10 in stock and would ship the next day. They even matched the price I was originally sold on. Rennline tried to scam me after the fact, to try and make more money because other companies were charging more. I will never give them my business now and wanted to give a positive shout out to ECS for honoring the original price and taking care of the customer. I have bought a good amount of products from them and will continue to do so!

Just to be clear for everyone, the company you're talking about is Rennline (not Rinnline).

I've heard horror stories from people dealing with ECS (I've never done business with them myself).
I've never heard anything bad about Rennline before - In fact, quite the opposite. I also wasn't aware they got consumed by ECS - I could have sworn they were a small "mom &pop" type establishment.

Anywho, I picked up my quickjack from Costco a couple of years ago, snagged it when it went on sale. I don't recall the exact price but I remember it being a good deal.

Interesting. I haven't had a problem with ECS outside of having to deal with their funky shipping rules.

I've never had any problems with ECS and I've ordered 6 times from them between 2019 and 2020.

However, I've had bad orders from another vendor on here... wrong swaybar once and then twice 4 years apart receiving R56 oil filters instead of R53 ones, when the invoice clearly stated R53 (as well as all the other parts being for a R53 in those orders). So either I'm lucky with ECS or some people are bad mouthing.

Side note, the quickjack has a few issues that make it not worth even $1250.

Source: had one for a year.

Please elaborate. I've had one for about 5 years and it's without a doubt my favorite tool.

Same, I've had mine for close to 3 years. My only regret was not buying one sooner. It makes working on my cars so much easier.
The only issue I've come across is that it's sometimes hard to connect the hydraulic hoses. But if you hold the "down" button while making the connections it relieves the internal pressure and makes connecting the hoses much easier.

Some notes of my experience:
- when raised, no access from the side of the vehicle
- mine leaked pressure within the pump, so needed to be bled constantly
- had a car raised on it for a few weeks, when it leaked pressure. Didn't realize until I was lowering the car and one side was lowering much more than the other.
- great for simple things like brakes/oil changes, didn't feel stable enough for major services like engine out, etc
- storage sucks. If your car is high enough, storing under the car is fine. For my vehicles, I had to move them inboard to store, and pull out to raise. The handles to move them were a nice touch
- rotating the jacks 90' is nice, but then it limits access again
- I had the 12v battery option, it was nice to be able to travel with them
- for $1500, you could almost buy a proper 2 post lift

No issues so far with ECS. Team Dynamics took forever to ship and I ended up ordering a set of NM Engineering wheels.

I had a pretty bad experience with a pretty widely used mini company also .. was lied to about how they " make them them in house and are made to order blablabla" when all they were was ebay company brand product that they just marked up the price on drastically on. The waiting time where they told me they were being made in reality they were just purchased and repackaged, price increased and a MASSIVE shipping cost so IF you do decide to return them you will loose your A** one was or another....
