I think it's a rule that people with big SUV's have to park next to small cars like MINI's to make themselves feel bigger.
That pic also points out something that really irks me...SUV's parking badly because they think that they are so big they have the right to hang into other spots That guy is over the line on one side and like a foot and a half from the other line! I am currently driving around our full sized pick-up while I'm waiting on my MINI and I make a point to make sure that I am as "in between the lines" as possible. So many good spots sre ruined by people that don't know how to park! Fortunately, in this instance the MINI was able to use a spot that would have otherwise been unusable!

I always park that way in an end space, even if the one next to it is empty. Then, without fail, I return to my car to find a scene very similar to the one in this picture...

I specifically park at the end of the lot on the end space leaving many open spaces between me and the rest of the potentially inconsiderate users. This is my first and probably last brand new car I will own, and I am doing everything I can to keep it that way. I walk past those circling the lot like a wagon train.

There's a new grocery store near me that actually has painted stripes for wider parking spaces, presumable because of the big 'ol SUVs. I love it and do my shopping there exclusively.

This same exact thing always happens to me. Even if I park like 3 clicks away from my building, some jackass always parks next to me....and of course it some rediculious car like the Expedition or Excursion. I simply hate those huge SUV's......with a passion.

i love when you park 1 mile away in a mall or something and no one is even close to you by anymeans- and you come out and find a geo metro or something full of rust is parked with its bumper crooked in the spot like an inch from your door, whats that about?

It has been mentioned before on NAM that there are actually people who do this on purpose whenever they see a nice car that's obviously parked defensively. You can't win!

Down here in the Deeeeeep South, it's not the big cars/trucks at the grocery stores you have to watch out for. It's those darn grocery carts!

Yeah, and look at the nice park job, too. Who was there first, him or you? He's totally over the line.
