Desperate for help after supercharger service

Friends:

I’ve been able to help a few people here and I hope I’ve banked some good karma.

‘05 MCS 111k miles.

I like to be proactive, so thought I would do the change the supercharger oil because I’ve read they have a tendency to fail if not serviced around this time. So I get the supercharger out, empty the stinky black oil, and open the ends. I cleaned everything out, changed the gear/pulley coupler to a polyurethane one, put it back together, and measure new oil into both ends.
I start putting everything back together. On the way back out, I put in a new water pump, crankshaft position sensor (with O-ring), blowoff valve, drive belt tensioner, new belt, spark plugs, thermostat & housing, a new gasket for anything that got touched. I dropped the oil pan to inspect and replaced the pan gasket along with an oil change. Of course, the coolant got flushed when I took the radiator off.

i cranked the car up still on the stands, before I put on the bumper, and had no error codes. The engine ran well put revved high for 1-2 seconds at start, and had a dip in RPMs every 10 seconds or so, but sounded good.

The next day when I got the car off the stands, I eased it out for a spin. It ran fine for a few hundred feet then went into limp mode. I had two errors, listed below, so I cleared them and went around the block again. Same result. It still revs high on startup.

The two (hex) error codes are:

1109 DME: Pressure sensor, intake manifold - input too high with trailing throttle

1689. DME: Electronic throttle monitoring, level 2/3, torque calculation - error

If anyone has had this happen before, or has a really good idea what the problem is, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks, everyone.

P.S. The car is bone stock, except for the stereo.

I did the same maintenance not to long ago. I also had a failing TMAP sensor (the one in the intake manifold) after refitting everything. In the end I found out that the connector wasn't making good contact with the 4 pins of the TMAP sensor. I used a small pick to bend the clips inside the connector, so that they are "smaller". That fixed the issue in the end for me.

With a little bit of luck, that will also solve the 1689 error.

Could 1689 be from a unplugged or going bad throttlebody ?
do a throttle reset and see if it helps that one maybe .

So I cleaned the throttle body before I put back on. I put a new gasket/o-ring in. I put some dielectric grease in the connection and it’s snapped tight. It looks like it’s working.
i don’t know how to do a throttle reset, and I don’t think my Foxwell 510 gives me the option.

any other ideas?

Inpa. You can reset all your adaptations. Fuel, throttle an even transmission if it is an automatic.

Throttle reset is ignition on, engine not running, floor the gas pedal & hold for 30 seconds, release, key off & out.

I’m not opposed to this, but I’m in a time crunch. What would I need?

Update: I thought it be several things, but most likely a vacuum leak. I found it.

it was on the underside of the new intercooler boot. Reseated it and runs like a champ.

Just curious what brand / model boots did you install? Any recommendations / tricks on how to avoid this happening?

I used the original MINI brand. I purchased them from RMEuropean, whom I recommend. I paid $91.14 & $52.76 for the two boots, respectively. The only advice I would give is to slow down (and I already work pretty slowly :
It's a little tricky to get them set in there when you're trying to get the intercooler on. Another pair of hands helps.

I went with MTC Motorsport ones, bought on eBay. Fitment is 100%, although it makes installing the intercooler maybe a little harder, due to reduced flex from silicone hoses.

Its a UK seller btw > https://www.ebay.com/itm/264621973761
