got my baby Monday!!!

I finally got my MCS on Monday. I havn't been online since then almost. LOL. The service with my dealer was great. They detailed the car for over an hour and a half. I have had no complaints about anything. Even the h/k radio. My previous car had a 1450 watt stereo 3 amps with 2 12 polk momo's and infinity speakers all round and the h/k really dosn't sound that bad. Espically for a stock system. I do notice the volume limit like I noticed in the convertable but I think the system in the hardtop sounds better than the convertable. I can live with it. Here's some pics I took with My cell phone. I am in the process of taking some more pics with a better camera. Let me know what you think.

I know we're supposed to comment on the car (which is nice by the way! ) but my first thought was -- wow, nice camera phone! Which one is it? Those are pretty good pics.

Nice pictures. Amazing what cel phones can do now. And how many miles do we have now?
I was really hoping to get our Mini tonight or tomorrow but weather delayed the process, and it now looks like we will get it on Mon. since the service dept. is closed tomorrow and of course Sat. and Sun. At least we should be able to start of the new year with a new ride.

357 miles already. I am looking for any and every excuse to drive my baby. It is sooooooooo much fun. I'm so glad I went with the Mini S. It must be a good sign b/c I just got her this week and today(christmas day) it snowed. It hasn't snowed around the New Orleans/south La area in 17 years. Espically on Christmas. My first white christmas. WOW! Go Me. LOL Merry Christmas Everyone.

The Jet Black looks great but is impossible to keep clean. Especially if you are as **** about polishing your car as I am!

Jet black

Your mini looks awsome, I love it all black. I'd like chrome rear view mirror covers if mine was all black. I picked my mcs off the lot and is jet black with a white top, rear view mirrors and stripes. It's impossible to keep clean, specialy the boot area but looks great all clean and shiny. Sweet ride, good luck with it.

wildone, you have Wanda's twin! You will be learning a whole lot about detailing! LOL! I've never washed all the cars in my life added together as many times as I've washed Wanda!

Congrats! Happy motoring!

No lie about the washing. I have washed my mini 2 times already and had her for only 1 week. Other than that I have been in love. I love my baby. It is really hard to keep clean though. Walmart has a duster that I'm going to buy tonight so after I wax her I can just use the duster and I should be good to go for a week or 2. I'm prolly going to wash her 2 to 3 times a month. My last car was blue and it was pretty hard to keep clean too, so I'm used to washing it every week. However the boot area needs it more. Like every 3 days. I am getting it tinted after the 1st so hopfully it will look awsome blacked out...

Oh, baby! Get ready for washing her 2-3 times a WEEK, tee hee! And watch out with the duster! It can scratch your new baby's finish. Better go read the many car-care threads in the Detailing forum and study up! LOL!

I suggest that you invest in a dozen or so good-quality microfiber towels, some Mequiar's Quick Detailer, (keep a towel or two and the detailer in the boot), and learn to become totally obsessive! It's fun, though....the MINI loves to be petted!

haha Yeah that's what I was thinkin too. 2 to 3 times a week. LOL Thanks for the advice on the duster. A friend who has a black mustang cobra has one and said that it worked pretty well but I would rather do like you said and get some Mcguers quick detail. I'm going to pick some of that up at walmart tonight. And I'm going to wash it by hand all the time. No automatic cw's for me. Thanks for all the info.

My Mini goes through a car wash every couple weeks. I planned to be obsessive about washing it by hand, but it's just not an option where I live. My local car wash is totally touch-free once it gets past the two guys with the chenille wash mits, and my Mini seems pretty happy with it. (Especially after I spend another hour on the wheels, Quick Detailing away all the water that drips out of the mirrors on the way home, using 303 on the trim, etc.)
