Sport Plus Suspension - free (almost)

I have a Sport Plus Suspension (struts/springs/shocks) off my 2004 R53 to giveaway (almost) if you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The rear struts have Bilstein B4s with less than 2,500 miles. The front struts need new shocks. My price is a 6-pack of Pacifico beer - pickup only. Just need to get them out of my garage. Anyone interested?

Cheers!

Here's a virtual sixpack for realworld good deed.

Well done.

I just stumbled upon this post, do you still have them sitting around the garage?

FYI - Spring rates are different depending on your MINI's options due to the weight they add / subtract from the car...specifically: manual / auto / trans and if it has sunroof....
When looking up springs for MINI, we had to use the vin to get correct ones.

Yep. These are off my MC40 -- pretty simple specs; manual trans, a/c, slicktop.

Follow up: the Bilsteins are worth a six-pack.

Solid garage beer choice as well!

It's like if Bud Light mixed with Corona, and didn't suck.

My Mexican beer of choice when I'm in Cabo (and a lot of the time I'm in Dallas). But I'm also a big fan of Negra Modelo and Dos Equis Amber. Come to think of it, I just like beer!

Was my beer of choice in Cabo, as well! Not easy to find in PA, though. Somebody take him up on this deal! I grabbed a one ball exhaust for a 30 pack off this board. Let's keep the beer for parts exchanges going.

Slight hijack if you'll permit it: what did you replace the sport plus suspension with? What are you using the car for? Observations?

I've got sport plus springs on my car with new B4s. Seriously considering a spring swap to Swifts. I'm under the impression that I might get better handling AND an improvement in ride, but still looking to validate that.

Thanks

I went to a standard S suspension. The Sport+ is 20% stiffer and I simply wanted a less harsh ride. Just about anything would be smoother than the Sport+. The S suspension is still plenty tight and doesn't affect the superb handling of the MINI.

They won't improve the ride over the stock springs. In fact, they'll do the opposite.

Damper properties are more relevant to ride "feeling" characteristics than spring rate is.*

Given there isn't an obvious imbalance to where the system is not well-matched.
