New Supercharger

Hi All, I am actually doing my research on getting a nes charger. Mine is developing some noise at 87k miles, so I guess I am not far away from a failure. Crawling the web it seems that some vendors sell the JCW charger cheaper than the "standard" MCS charger. AFAIK, they are equal except the pulley, right? So I can e.g. buy this charger and be fine:

Those are NLA, they have not updated their system. I know because we bought the last that were left in the world. Its a simple upgrade that just you need the JCW sized belt if you find them used. We will be having a rebuilt solution in the future. Right now for MCS stock we have this which MINI raised the price on and now has a core charge. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...11657526657kt/

JCW New thats nla.

You are correct sir.
That being said have you considered getting a rebuild done on it? Would be less than half the cost of a new one.
Mine was also making a terrible sound. Ended up being the PTO side of the SC. I decided the cheapest route for me was to delete The PTO,and go electric water pump. Finishing it up this week as I have the downtime.

My advice is to look into all your options before dropping <1k. Good luck with whatever you decide.

You could buy a used Car off Craigslist for cheaper and then take the SC off. Then part the car, make some of your money back.

I would go Jokerz, you can find him on FB. I know him through lightningrodder.com. He has a long standing history of porting and rebuilds in the Lightning community. F150 Lightnings run an Eaton M112 blower. His CS is great, I contacted them on a rebuild a while back. I wanna say it was around $500. They quoted me less if I only wanted to rebuild the snout side (Electric WP Swap)

Being that Eaton never made parts for the M45, be careful! I had a SC ported and coated from Stigemeyer in St. Charles Missouri and within a month it shot all the oil out of the snout. They said since I was running a Craven Speed 17% pulley that I bought from Detroit Tuned and sent directly to Stigemeyer to install I was still out of warranty. I amnrunning a GRS Motorsport IC to help offset the heat a 17% pulley would produce. Sad because I grew up down the street from them and was excited to share positive experience of a hometown company.

Seems Detroit Tuned was offering rebuild (with parts like bearing being genetic and pto gears build inhouse)... anyone has experience with those units?

They were great for a while. They started having bad CS for a while, and poor results. There were similar problems with SC failing often in the Lightning community as well.

They shut down for a long time. Couple years if I'm not mistaken. They've since reopened a few years back, and a few people have reported "better" results. I'm not willing to chance it as there is better port/rebuild companies out there.
