Pilot bearing on Midland

I wanna switch to the getrag 6 speed but I don't have $1,000 after all the other parts I've switched.

02 - 04 (04) R50 199,550 miles I've replaced the timing chain and all bushings and struts as well as power steering pump and reservoir.

What's the chance the pilot bearing is going out? I'm about to install a new clutch kit with throw out bearing. How much more work is it to do the pilot bearing???

Please help.

Thank you.

MINIs don't have pilot bearings so that isn't your issue

Happy day!!

I wanted your clutch Way, but mine went out on the highway and I had to get a generic one from O'Riley's :/ I'll get yours when I swap to the getrag in the next year or so.

I haven't checked your website but there are shift cable bushing linkage replacements similar to the power flex bushings. Just wanted to let you know they exist. I was stoked to find that I wouldn't have to do all the extra work to replace the cable.

I'll have a machine shop turn my flywheel because I'm worried the clutch was fouled which that or something else rubbed a low/high spot into my it.

If it comes back smooth how should I score it to improve it's grip? I think Mod mini says Emory cloth, but I swear it was just sand paper.

Thanks for all that you provide for the community.

I will! Thank you! Ultimately I'll probably only be in the market for a low milage getrag.

That swap would probably cost just as much.....maybe more. Completely different than a Midlands box

I'm sorry I think I misunderstood something. Imma go ask Allmag what he thinks about scoring the flywheel.
