Messy Oil Changes

I have been changing my oil for the past two years and still have not found a way to do it with using a whole roll of paper towels. The problem is the filter housing. I have let the filter housing stay barely fastened in hopes it would drain but still a mess. I watched Ant on Wheeler Dealer do the oil change on the MC40 and did not get a drop oil anywhere when he removed the filter and housing. Can anyone tell me how to do a “Clean” oil change without making a mess

Yeah, I just loosen the filter housing and let it drain back into the block while I do something else. I’ve never had an issue with it being messy.
