Drive cycles to have emissions monitors ready

Went to get my emissions done and I didn't have all the systems ready . I know for sure my car passed all but the catalyst and I can have 2 not pass to pass emissions . but I had 3 . components ??? What that ? , catalysts and Evap.
what is the correct drive cycle for each monitor ? I read I need to get up to 50 and slow down to like 5mph not using the brake or touching the clutch , how can I do that in a manual car ? I drove around like 3 hours all ranges of driving and the same 3 were still incomplete . so just driving isn't doing it.

I don't mean to be a smartass, but just let off the gas and let car engine brake. Am I missing something?

it will be fine to leave it in 5th all the way that slow ? Or should I pop it out of gear and let it decell ? My question is I guess when I get to 50 do I leave it in 5th Netral and coast down or should I pop it out of gear and neutral down to speed.
lol. It's one thing if it was auto then it's pretty obvious . but plz forgive my occasional ignorance. This is my 1st manual manual car in 10 years and even the one be for I drove for 2 weeks only so I still have a steep learning curve here so just bare with me sometimes . it gets through eventually...

The R53 will do 50 in third gear, maybe even second but I'm not sure right this second. You can decel in any gear until it starts chugging.

Miniman - it's no different than stopping for traffic lights - just foot off the gas, no brakes & depress the clutch when appropriate.
In reality, most emissions monitors will clear simply by driving the car normally for a few days, including several starts & stops.
I would have expected your 3 hours driving to have worked as long as it included a wide mixture of idle, local & highway driving.
You should see the 'theoretical' reset for a Ford Escort - it needs an abandoned airport for about a week!

With my tune for catless exhaust and the codes tuned out, will my catalyst monitor ever even pass ? That's the only one I have left and now the station tells me I can have 2 unpassed BUT that one needs to say ready / pass ..CMON !!!!!!! I literally only have that one left ... Im gonna try a few more drive cycles and hope that helps . I hate having to fudge the system and lie about where my car resides but when the EPA is a **** you must think and act like the allies.

Make sure your starts and stops include a minimum of 5 min of key off time for the ECU to reset, and at least 2 or more of both cold and warm starts.
this will make sure all processes have been cycled.

It's unknown whether it will ever cycle the catalyst, and I never could get my evap to show compete, no matter what I did, including changing a few parts.

Our emissions allows 2 incomplete cycles, but no faults, are you sure the catalyst is an incomplete and not a fault, (obvious code or not).

I'm as anti-government as they come, but YOU removed the factory equipment catalysts from your vehicle knowing you live in an emissions tested area. Why?

because I have the ability to register it at my cottage up north where there is no emissions . AND I REMOVED IT BECAUSE RACE CAR !!!! LOL . but no. If you don't need to run a cat why would you ? And I did not remove the cat. I purchased the car with a catless header and one ball mod exhaust and a few other mods. I bought the car thinking it was stock and only mods I knew it had is what I could see then. And personally for me the more the better but I got it from a mother who owned it for ever and gave it to her son who had it for a few years be for passing away and did unknown work to it she said as she didn't own it . but it was high mile cali car ,very clean and seemed very very well taking care. Mother swore she did while she had it
So in a way , by building up this car that kids spirit is living on.
as of just recently too the emissions test became more strict and there's huuuuuge issues now with vehicle owners having no cel on or running issues but certain monitors in the cars tests just stop performing . EVEN THOUGH a simple scan can show the car is running fine with no faults . the tech explained a lot to me and this catalyst system auto fail is a recent change . it used to be you could have ANY 2 systems not pass . be for that you could even pass with certain cel's on. I personally did when I was much younger . so times have changed ..
my car says there's a functioning cat according to the ecu . fooled or not it says that. So it should pass. ******** is what it is
I will give it a week of drive cycles and hope for the best . I just have this one and only test to become completed.

Fixing other people's mods are always fun. You might be able to find a factory manifold in the junkyard that is in decent shape and put it on the car for a simpler solution.

I wouldn't remove the catalysts because modern cats are pretty efficient and only cause problems if you're running a fuel that will damage them. Sounds like the previous owner's factory manifold split. Thanks again, BMW.

Now, is this true .
with the rear 02 tuned out so it doesn't throw codes for no cat . The car can't then complete the catalyst ready or not ready part of the testing . . . . I have done alot of driving and last I checked that monitor still was not ready but I will check it one last time to see.

thx dude but I got an easier way around it.
i just checked it today after doing a certain drive cycle and it finally completed and passed the components , what I've read is ALL need to have been passed before the catalyst will clear and even then it can take a few cold starts to finally recognize and pass the catalyst . So after another week if I take my car out a few times I will check it again.
to get the components i had to get up to speed at 60 mph and coat down to a stop 2x , which is actually hard considering where I live so I did it late last night and it cleared out the components ..

Glad to hear you got it sorted, a bigger hassle than it should be.
