Where will the clock land next....

AND WHERE?

I've read through NAM and Motoringfile that the clock will be moved again from its newest spot next to the odometer, which everybody HATES.

So far MINI hasn't mentioned when it will be moved or where, does anybody know or have idea's to where they may be moving it? Should we start a last minute petition to get it placed where WE want it?

Discuss!

I read somewhere (MotoringFile?) that it might be moving into the radio - quite sensible!

A "HUD" display on the windshield is slated for 2007, maybe it will be there in time. No pun intended

Not true. I like my clock next to the odometer, nice and low-key.

But then of course this is my first car with an OEM clock  Jimbo

I also like my clock next to the odometer

And I have had many cars with OEM clocks. Some with two, one in the radio and one on the dash. Close to the odometer makes it easy to see and not obtrusive.

Well i must be one of the rare people who really like it where it currently is on my 04' MINI. Up on the roof in front of the rear view mirror. To me its much easier to read then having to decifer it from all the gauges on the center stack. Also easier to keep an eye on the road since its just out of my line of sight.

I wish they would just put it back. Its like the saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it.....

If they did that - they might as well put the CD track time in there too (one of the only annoyances I have with the MINI)!

What is up with that? I like seeing the track times too.

As for the clocks in all my cars... I still look at my wrist!

I'd much rather have the track artist and title before time, seems like a simple feature that would be great to add.

As for the clock, I like it where it is. What's so important about a trip monitor anyways, I think it'd be awkward to have it in the cieling.

Actually its very important for me to rather see the trip information than the clock in that spot. I use the trip info to double check my fuel gauge and to truely know how much further i can go.

I'm so used to the clock in the ceiling that I keep looking up for the time when I'm driving my wife's Subaru. Put it back in the ceiling! Takes a couple of weeks to get used to, but you'll never go back!

I do the same thing in my wife's Honda. I get so pissed looking everywhere for the clock when I drive that thing. She just sits back and laughs "Gee, thanks for the Help"

Butch

Keep it in the roof!!

Yep, I search all over for the time on my wifes Lexus IS300 when I'm driving--expecting it to in the same MINI location. I wish they were all on the roof! Also if they put the Track time on the head unit, I hope they add a repeat track button.

Me three! Not only should MINI put the clock back on the ceiling, but every other car manufacturer should follow suit.

Maybe I'm the only weirdo that like the clock on my speedometer, in case you wondering I have a nav so my speedo is right in front of me. I would like to see the clock and date/year display on the bottom of the nav screen as well. BMW w/nav equipped does that, why not MINI since they using the same system.

I have this capability on my home stereo, but only have 1 CD that is actually encoded with the CD-text to actually take advantage of it! I guess MP3 CDs would work, though.

Yeah what is the deal with this? Why do so few CDs have the CDText encoded?

I did a Google search, but didn't come up with any answers. Seems like a chicken-an-egg problem. Few CD players read CD text, so few CDs are encoded with CD text. And vice versa.

By the way, I like the clock up top in my 04 MCS.

I too like the clock up in the roof. It's not right in my face saying, "You're late again, man. The boss is gonna fire you this time."
