R50/53 Cracked trim when closing door
Cracked trim when closing door
Under icy conditions I opened the door of my '05 MCS and heard ice cruching noises and felt some resistance. When I went to close the door it made a loud crack! and bounced back refusng to close. The second attempt worked. Later I noticed the trim piece at the upper front corner of the side glass was cracked. I wonder if the window did not roll down like it is supposed to. Maybe the glass hits the door frame if it is in the full up position? This is weird!
The broken piece is the black plastic trim on the driver's a-pillar. It overhangs the glass when the door is closed.
Does anyone have experience opening/closing doors when the car has a dead battery?
