I was out the door at about $19900 for everything (tax, title, etc.). Just thought I'd mention it to give prospective buyers hope that it is indeed possible to get this car for under $20k. 2003 Cooper, premium package, chrome bumper, fog lights.
The MINI sales staff had it pretty easy. I had gone into to MINIUSA, picked an MCS, IB, BLK top, stripes, the options (1,2,3+) we wanted and saved it.
Deb at Princeton MINI, logged into MINIUSA, printed my saved order and wrote the order up from there. She asked if we wanted floor mats, so we added the rubber mats plus tax and title. Painless and no unwanted extras.
The total for our MCS was around $25k.
On the down side, MINI reduced the latest MCS allocation to our dealer and our February delivery date is slowing sinking into March.

>>Why are people paying for floor mats???? My dealer threw mine in.....
I bought our MINI at Lauderdale MINI in Ft Lauderdale, FL. This is the only dealer in S.Fla (Among 6 MINI dealerships here) that charges $299 over MSRP and that includes the cloth floormats, car wash/detail and paperwork fees.
South Motors MINI, and the 2 Braman MINI dealers (Miami & West Palm Beach) all charge $1500+ in mandatory accessory packages, so $299 over MSRP at Lauderdale is a bargain!.

MCS BRG, MSRP Sport, Premium, Panther Blk Leather, LoJack ($495), Floor Mats ($149), NY 8.25% Tax, Tag & Title ($100), worked out to $27,050, or therabouts.
As a strange matter of financing, mine was cash + credit card. I have a pile of low interest cards with no balance, so I wrote myself two checks that net out to $22,500 at about 3.9%. Since the interest is relative to the balance, if I stick to my 24 months or less payment plan, that runs down a little further, to probably 3 points. I have a couple other cards, so I'm going to hold out for a 0% card and maybe switch (my current rates are guaranteed until fully paid, but the 0% offers tend to be fixed horizons, and less than 15 months). Has anyone every used revolving credit to finance large purchases? I have paid down large balances pretty diligently in the past, so I'm not worried about the trap of paying minimums.

Bought my MCS from Ferman of Tampa Bay on Oct 20th (MY BIRTHDAY) with the only options being dark silver paint and lapis leather. I paid $22,500 +TTT, delivery and $350 for the Autobond "invisible bra" (garbage scotch tape like material covering the front bumper and part of the bonnet). I think I got a fair deal except, as you can guess, for the Autobond junk which they claimed $350 was their cost (yeah right!). I'm happy though!
