These Mini abbreviations are making my head hurt
I'm new to the Mini game, just ordered my MCS this week. For the past 2 weeks I've been racking my brain trying to understand just what the hell you all are talking about! MA's, signatures that read CR/W, IB/B, etc, it's all confusing!
What happened to the good ole method of writing out what you mean?
Maybe it's just that I'm a newbie, but these terms seem silly.
"Motoring Advisor"?
"Let's go motoring"?
I love the car, but you guys are weird! I'm not sure if I can get used to using all these abbreviations and terminology. Hopefully it's an Internet thing, and doesn't filter into the actual get-togethers. I can't ever bring myself to say "Let's go Motoring!"

Hate to burst your bubble, abbreviations and acronyms are used all the time in the world outside the internet...and people even used them prior to the Internet being created! So clearly it aint an internet thang.
Take, IBM people say Eye Bee Emm rather than their whole name.
How about BC as in 1000 BC or AD as in 1923 AD?
Don't tell the Mrs. over on Mayburry St. in small town CA, USA that the ERA movement set in many years ago. She doesn't just now need to burn her bra (brassiere sp?) in protest.
How about Jeep? Yep, that word comes from General Purpose or GP (pronounced "Jeep") for short. During WWI and WWII many GIs would refer to multipurpose or general purpose vehicles as GPs, some even became MIAs while driving one. Some became POWs for not paying enough attention while eating their MREs. But whatever you do, don't tell your CO you're going AWOL.
You see, this list could go on and on and on and on
BTW, have yourself a merry x-mas!

I have a restomod 65. The Mini doesn't have anywhere near the power, but it's a handling machine. I was out at a nor-cal shelby event, and most people gained a new respect for the Mini! You'll love it, but no more donuts at intersections

You think our acronyms are confusing? Imagine seeing a MINI described as this: MCS03BRG/W+++d=bN~lYw+*Ar!ciKB+a-sCsPcMACP-pB+H-mp-s+++a++S+g++MMm+o+e+++p++++Pt++T+I++i++C++m+++M+Ss+!W+wB++@!
One of our more gifted local owners came up with this comprehensive code for describing our highly individualized MINIs in more detail than one could imagine! It never caught on.
Find the code at the same link you'd fnd the acronym list!

abbreviation since "SG" has always referred to "Silk Green". Not sure if that
was ever resolved.

I suck. I promise not to use any TLAs for the rest of the day.

It could have been worse, he could have said, "Oh You have a MINI Coop also??"

MCSC - MINI Cooper "S" Convertible
Also, MCC = MINI Cooper Convertible (non-S)
And yeah....I DO use the term "motoring" quite often! It's so MINI!

Stylin99, welcome to NAM. As a former Mustang owner (86 GT, 89 LX 5.0, and 2000 GT Convertible) I can say you will enjoy these cars for how different they are from the Mustang. They are not straight line cars, but their handling is light years above the Stang. I hope you are able to keep the Ford's so you can have the best of both worlds. Sometimes I miss the brute force power the Mustang was capable of.
