'05 MCS w/LSD Production Schedule

Has anybody with an open order for an '05 MCS w/lsd been given a production date through MINIUSA.COM? If so, when did you order and what is your scheduled date? I placed my order on Nov 10th, and it's not been scheduled yet.

Well, LSD implimentation isn't slated until Jan 1st production at the earliest, so you can expect production to be on or slightly after that day. (hope the factory workers aren't too hung over from New Years, LOL!) Plan on an early February delivery!

Cheers,
Ryan

Same here. I ordered an S w/LSD on Nov.13 from Century MINI in Greenville, SC. I don't have a production # yet, but I was told to be prepared to wait until late Feb. maybe even early March. That's calling it close because my region starts their autocross season the first or second week of March. I gotta put 1,250 miles on it before then.

I placed an order with NorthWest MINI last January with an expected arrival date of March '05. I notified my MA about a month ago that I wanted the LSD and he replied "no problem". Of course, our MINI won't even be concieved until after the new year.

The waiting is maddening. I just keep telling myself this gives us more time to save up $$$.

I have a LSD equipped MCS on order (early January build). My dealer gave me a production number on 11/18/04 and the LSD option shows up in my vehicle's options list in the MINI USA Owner's Lounge. However, like you, I have no confirmed production date (and no VIN) as of yet. I assume that we won't get our confirmed/scheduled production dates until maybe the last week or two of December.

Thus, don't fret about not having a scheduled production date yet as I don't think that anyone else has one either. At least the LSD is showing up in the OL, so that's really good news.

I placed my order for an 05 MCS with LSD on November 13th and have been told that production is scheduled for the first build week in January. I have a tracking number but do not have a VIN. I was told it should be here end of January or first of February .

Fortunatly I have my wife's 03 MCS to drive while waiting:smile: .

Same here.

Ordered the car on 12/3 and was told first week of Jan for build, early Feb for delivery.

I am curious about the demand for the LSD, which ultimately will effect all of our delivery dates. I mean, how many 'typical' Mini buyers want or even know anything about this option? By typical I do not mean the rabid Mini fans on this site, but those people going for style points over performance.

We order our MCS from Downtown Mini (Orlando) on 11/11 and she is currently on a ship making her way to the USA. She is scheduled to be in Baltimore on the 14th, then onto Charleston, then to GA on the 19th. Our dealer said we will probably get it right before Christmas. I think she was built right away because they had a tentative buyer that was trying to decide between a MCS and the convertible. They were dragging their feet (or so I was told) so we were able to order. We changed the color, changed a few other things and put a deposit down. She was completed on 11/30. I saw on the ship's website that she was loaded on board the 4th, left England on the 5th. She's on the ship Liberty.
We almost ordered from Cinci since we used to live about 20 miles N of Cinci, but since we now live in C FL, we bought down here.

Hope this helps.

Ours are delayed because we ordered the LSD and production doesn't start for that option until Jan. 1, '05. Thus the Febuary delivery dates.

I ordered mine on the 3rd of November w/ LSD and same here, no production date. I figured I would start to get really antsy around Christmas for a date.

On a side note, how many cars can they build the 1st week of January? It seems like everybody's MA says it will be built the 1st week. Anyone know what their typical weekly output is?

Can't wait till February!

Me too... Ordered on Nov. 29 with Lsd.. No production yet. I'm hoping that I get the "your mini being built movie" that some of the others have had. BTW Anyone receive anything from mini or your dealership yet? I was told by friends to expect a few packages?

I put in an order for an MCSC w/LSD a few months ago but went back early Nov to switch it to a MCS hradtop. Apparantly I am the first one at Westchester MINI to order the LSD. I emailed my MA yesterday to see if it was "time" to place the order yet, but havent heard back yet. Maybe I'll take another ride down tomorrow.

My car rolled off the line Jan 9 2003, and was at MINI of Sterling in Virginia on Jan 29. The biggest delay wasn't at the plant, it was actually at the VPC in New Jersey. Both the NJ and CA VPC's were seriously backlogged in Jan '03 but Charleston was not. Don't know what happened last year though...

Today's silly question:

It is safe to assume my car will go through Charleston? I'd hope they'd take the shortest route to Atlanta, but you never know.

Ordered my MCSC with LSD the day after Thanksgiving and was told by my dealer Friday, unofficially, that it is scheduled for production in the third week of Jan. No notification from the mini website though. Still says it's 'on order'. When I ordered, the manager told me he thought I could have it (the car) by late Jan., but that obviously won't be the case. I'm hoping to have the car by mid-Feb which I think is realistic since I'm told the average car takes about 24hrs to build.

In the mean time I just keep going to the website like a junky. This forum helps the jones a little, but not much.

That's a pretty safe assumption...

My build date is supposedly 01/01/05, so I'd assume that I should be getting a confirmed production date soon. As of right now, I'm still "On Order" via the Owner's Lounge and "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" via the automated ASK-MINI line.

.....let's hope most of your build is done by robots. Knowing the way people generally celebrate New Year's Eve in the UK (excessive alcohol consumption rating high on the list ) I'd hate it to be largely hand-built on New Year's Day.

Yes, I was thinking that very same thing. The worst part of it all is that this is a replacement for an 05 MINI that I received back in October (which was a lemon). If this one turns out to be a lemon too, I'm not sure what I'll do (besides never buy another MINI again that is).

I have a MCS w/ LSD on order. I have my production number and my MA and Mini Assistance have told me that it will be produced in the second week of January. It will come through Charlston and I will take delivery 4 to 5 weeks after production. It shows-up in the owner's tracking with the LSD, but still "on order."

Can't wait!!!

Count me in. I have a 1st week production number too. I've had an April 2002 that dyno's pretty well (158hp at wheels). Getting all that power to the ground on track days / autoX has been a challange for me. Also 2nd gear bog at the auto X was a PITA. The new tran ratios will help there too.

The 2002 car was not "brand new" as it had 1000 miles on it (salesmans car). I could tell by the tires that it was not babyed for a 1000 mi. Forty three thousand miles later it runs great!! I just want the LSD and new tranny ratios. Hope this car does as well!!! Puts me in a real quandry about how to "break" in the new one. I'm pretty sure I know how the last one was driven for the first 1000mi .....

Still 'on order' like everyone else. My MA told me 3rd week of Jan. production. Ordered the day after thanksgiving. I'm kveching for it, but I think 2.5 months isn't to bad a wait considering. Still......
