R50/53 '05 MCS w/LSD Production Schedule

The 2002 car was not "brand new" as it had 1000 miles on it (salesmans car). I could tell by the tires that it was not babyed for a 1000 mi. Forty three thousand miles later it runs great!! I just want the LSD and new tranny ratios. Hope this car does as well!!! Puts me in a real quandry about how to "break" in the new one. I'm pretty sure I know how the last one was driven for the first 1000mi

So, everyone has a date quoted by the dealer but is still "on order." Hell, all the MA's will say this week or that, it means nothing!
Has ANYBODY w/LSD reached the "scheduled for production" stage?
Has ANYBODY w/LSD reached the "scheduled for production" stage?
What I'm starting to get concerned about is whether they will have the LSD's ready for production the 1st week. When I ordered my car the 1st week of November, my MA told me that mine would be built the 1st week, but that you never know if they will get the new parts in on time, so it may take as long as week 3!!!1!
Does anyone know how long prior to production other folks have been listed as "Scheduled for Production"? I think that if its not scheduled by the 27th, I will really start to freak! I need to have the car all nice and broken in for an auto-x school in March

I am assuming that the LSD is ready to go because it is listed on miniusa.com as a stand alone option. I'm in the same posotion. We start autoXing in early March. I gotta put 1,250 miles on it before then. The first time I spoke with my MA about my build date, he said I would be one of the very first. He said, "just after the new year." The second time we spoke he said, "first week production." The last time we spoke it was going to be the second week of January. I have no faith in what the MA says about production dates. I want to see it in the owners lounge as "scheduled for production" before I start getting excited. I feel like I'm waiting on an kidney transplant or something... Forgive me... that must sound pretty tacky to someone who is actually waiting on an organ...I do bad things...
On the miniusa site, it plainly states that your MA may know more about your Mini's whereabouts than we (meaning miniusa.com) do. I had my MA looking at their database entry of my car while I was on the phone. I did not ask how far reaching the db was, but I'm sure it wasn't some internal spread sheet.
Have faith.

Photos during production?
I seem to remember, during the last month or so, someone talking about seeing pictures of their car that were taken during the production process (through miniusa?), but it was unclear as to whether this was being done as a test, or if this was going to be offered to all new owners. Anyone know any more about this?
Can you retrofit?
Just weighing the options...
I know there's LSD's out there already (and I type this wearing a tie-dye–how fitting) but I wonder if it would be about the same cost to go through the dealer and get it. Any thoughts? I'm sure this is all too early to tell since you guys are foaming at the mouth with yours in production.

I also have a LSD equipped MCS that started production on December 20th (with a January 9th completion date). Thus, I too am hoping that they make the production video a reality for everyone as I'd love to see that car's video as well.
I was told by Ask MINI that only a few people were included in the test of the production video, and that you would be notified if you were to be included. My 05 MCS w/ LSD is scheduled to be completed on January 11th

It's probably scheduled with no actual date set yet. Thats where mine is now, according to ASK-MINI. I would assume once they pick a finalized date, then it will show up on the main tracking page.
production # and build date with LSD
faxed order to Roadshow Mini on Nov 19, was officially on record Dec 2.
recieved production # and Dec 22, build date of Jan 13th. (convertible w\LSD) I'm expecting delivery mid Feb to Mar 1st.

production # vs production date
Just wondering if there is a way to predict what your production week could be based on the production number you get? Is there a comparison between the two? Does Mini have a set weekly/daily quota of cars they produce? I'm in the on-order status at the moment with now idea when my car will start production.

NEVERMIND, i found it! Can't believe i didn't see it before....
My LSD equipped MCS started production on 12/20/04 and is due to be completed this Sunday (01/09/05). It's too bad that I'm over in CA as the car has to get on the long boat from China and so I won't be seeing it until the end of February. I can't wait though...
