The exciting thing is Scooper as a 1/31/03 production guy is now a 150.... Last time I looked at a calendar today is not really week of 1/31... which means they appear to be ahead of schedule! Whoohoo! Maybe in 1 week us 2/7 people will be 150....

Missouri Mini it looks good for the MINI to be ready before I return to St. Louis! You keep and eye my car for me!

Well, I guess you can add me too! I live in California, but I'm buying my MINI in New York. I got my production number this week and my estimated build date has flip flopped from 1/31 to 2/7 and this morning it now says 2/21. I sure hope it's earlier! My real birthday is 2/20, so maybe it will be born the same day I was!

MINIDean; MCS; DS/B; CA-US; (build 02/21/02)

By the way...Where are you getting the status codes? Do I have to call MINI USA?

Ultimately yes call MINI USA, but Bill has listed the codes and you can figure it out from the owner's lounge. I really don't like to call people just because I can. It is interesting that your production date is slipping like that. Mine showed at the owners lounge on order. Then it got scheduled for production and the date hasn't changed. Recently a car scheduled for 1/31 production changed to 150 which is in production clearly before the scheduled week. There is obviously some priortization that I haven't figured out yet that MINI is using.

By the way welcome to the club. Soon, if you aren't already, you will be surfing this site constantly, sucking out every crumb from threads!

Yeah, they bumped up the est. production date from 2/7 to 1/31, and then told be I hit 150 on 1/20. Sounds to me like they sped up a little after their Christmas break. The Owners Lounge info still says est 1/31, but I called "Ask Mini" for the updates. They seem to have the best, most current info, and are very friendly. I suggest you all call them ASAP to check on your orders. You might get some really good news!

By the way, the wait gets even tougher when you realize that your car EXISTS (in some form). It's no longer just a fantasy...but it's not in your driveway yet, either. Tough.

Welcome MINIDean!! Scooper & jc replied quick! Status codes are from MINI USA. I'm trying to limit myself to calling once per week to find status until I go 150 (Production Started). At that point, I'll be calling daily!

As a courtesy to everyone coming in new, here are the statuses:

MINI Production Statuses

37 Order is at BMW NA (On Order)
87 Production Week Assigned
97 Order Sent at Factory
111 Order Accepted at Factory
112 Order Scheduled for Production
150 Production Started (Scheduled for Production)
151 Body Shop Started
152 Paint Shop Started
153 Assembly Started
155 Production Completed
160 Released to Distribution
182 Released to Carrier (Awaiting Transportation)
193 Arrived at Port of Exit (Received at Terminal)
194 Selected for Shipment (Loaded on Vessel)
195 Shipped from Port of Exit (En Route)
196 Shipment Arrival (Discharged)

Thanks,
Bill

Scooper, I am in a somewhat unique situation. I am trying to avoid the reality non reality issue that you are now confronting. I am leaving the country for 3 weeks 2/27, and I won't get back until 3/19 at 12:45pm! So, it will probably be my luck(bad) that the damn thing will be ready for delivery on say 2/26... Since I live 3 hours from the dealer. I will get on the plane and will have paid for the damned car that morning and then not get to drive it for over 3 weeks! That would be a fate worse than any other. So I want the car to deliver of about 3/14 so they have plenty of time to put all the finishing touches on it, and have our fellow marcher, MissourMini, keep a vigilant eye on it until 3/19 at 12:45pm when I show up and drive my new baby home 3 hours away! Could you imagine the reality that your baby was sitting there with 20 miles on it and you are going on vacation? Think of that agony!

Scooper,

Are you still at 150? I would hope after 3 days you would be part way down the line at least!

Yeah, I called last night, and I'm still at 150. That's just three days, so if they started late on Monday, I guess it's reasonable. Not sure. I'll call again tomorrow, and see what progress has been made.

After reading some other posts, I really don't see much rhyme or reason on the movement of est. prod. dates...

JC-that would be hell! 20 miles under your belt, and three weeks away! Yikes. Maybe you can call MINI and tell them to take their time and give your MINI some extra TLC while they put it together. Hope it's a nice trip, though...do they rent MINIs where you're headed. Actually, if your MINI shows up in February, and you're away, IT can join us in the "CWFM" club, while it's waiting for YOU to get home!

Bill-Thanks again for your great work on this Club! You rock!!!

Well it is part of the UK, but not in the Atlantic ocean.... I will need a car for one day there... I will have to check. 4 of us driving around New Zealand in a MC. Yes it is a fabulous vacation! It was all I have thought about since last 4th of July when I booked it, but since October it has been a daily battle with the MINI being of highest priority! And since December when DW let me order it, it has been really bad! Good thing though was I got lots of MINI stuff for Xmas Birthday (1/6) Anniversary (1/10). I am reluctant to bring all my cool stuff and sit them on my desk, because then people ask questions, and since I make more than most of them, I don't like to flaunt it unnecessarily, etc. So I have 2 BRG MC with white roof RC cars at home and I don't get to play with them. My MC mousepad I do use at home! My BRG with white sweatshirt I do wear at home, etc. I, also, prefer to see there reactions when it shows up unannounced in my parking spot.

NZ?! OK, now I'm jealous! That'll be a great trip...a friend just moved down there from the States, and she LOVES it!

I'm with you on the "advertising" at work through models, etc. on the desk. I have one picture up, and that's it. I get enough of the "is that an electric car?" and "How will you fit in such a small car?" that I deceided against anything else on the desk. Once I have it, I'll put up a picture of the car itself.

Also, it sounds like you've got all of your holidays bunched up...but there's no rule against buying yourself new MINI toys for July 4th, Arbor Day, etc!

MiniZee--Congrats! Let us know how the shipping goes, hows long it takes at the VPC, and most importantly, how the first drive is!

OK...I called MINIUSA and the status of my order is 111. Accepted at factory. They also told me that my confirmed production week is week 8, which is the estimated production complete date of 2/21 as indicated in the owner's lounge.

When do you guys think I'll see a VIN?

This is great!!!!

Way to go MINIDean! And welcome to MCO, by the way!

You'll probably see a VIN in a couple of weeks. I say one when I got the Status 150, which was about 2-3 weeks after Status 111. (Actually, I missed 112!)

Stick with the "Can't Wait for March" club here...

HOPEFULLY, I'm a "can't wait for marcher".

My production date is 2/14.

MCS IB/W, bonnet stripes, 3 packages, leather, HK.

I called 1-866-ASKMINI and my status is 112. They said to expect a late March, early April delivery.

Can't wait!

Welcome Lily btw where are you from? So we can figure out why they might tell you April you appear to be a perfect marcher to me. Naive though I may be!

Scooper... only a few days in NZ. Then a few more in Tahiti... and finally a few more in Hawaii... oh, and several in between at sea.

Thanks for posting all the status numbers. What does the dealer give you so that you can check on your status? A VIN number once the order is submitted?????

Hey Scoobs!

When my dealer placed my order, I got a production # from MINIUSA.COM via email within an hour or two. In the email there were instructions for logging on to the Owner's Lounge within MINIUSA.COM, and from there, how to check my status. So far, the Owner's Lounge seems to be behind as my status there has not changed, it still says "On Order". The 1-866-ASKMINI number has a more detailed snapshot of what is actuall going on.

That being said, my initial production date was 2/21, after about 5 days, the Owner's Lounge showed me @ 02/07. Since then, no movement.

If you haven't received an email, I'd call the dealer and get that info. They should be able to help out. Your VIN won't come until they actually start making your car.

Welcome to the club!

Bill

Sounds tough, JC. While I'm looking at the -5 degrees on the thermometer in CT, I'll be thinking of you roughing it south of the equator! (to be fair, I spent a week in Maui in December, so I really shouldn't complain...)

Scoobs--Once my order made it to the factory, they gave me a "production number" (I got this form my dealer). After it's scheduled for production ("in the queue&quot, they'll be able to provide a VIN.

Lily--Welcome to the club, and welcome to MCO! March sounds pretty safe for you...where are you in the country?

I'm in Longmont, Colorado.

Just an observation...I've seen very few MINIs in Colorado. Two in or near Longmont. That's it.

I drive north from Longmont for work each day - so maybe I'm just missing all the MINI action down south.

OK all. Here is the most recent update. I'll probably start posting these only once per day (assuming there are changes) just to keep down on the noise. But will more than happy to do it on request as well.

Keep up your recruiting efforts! If we're sly, we may be able to nab some late "February" people over to our side! Remember, Feb only has 28 days! (I'm so bad!)

Thanks,
Bill

So I found out what my production date was supposed to be. 1/24, I think they might have been, just a little, early.

Lily--

Actually, I think you might be near a MINI hotbed! I'm an East Coaster, and not really tied in to what's happening in the West, but I do know that one of the most active groups on this board are in Colorado. While you're on MCO here, keep an eye out for "DaveinDenver", "RandyBMC", and a number of other CO-based folks. (I think the MCO founder is even from out that way) I hear they have a very active group and website (www.mini5280.org). There's also a regional area here on MCO, where you can find out what's happening in those Rocky Mountains. Enjoy!
