So I need a little help here.

Eraly on I decided to name my MINI Lucy, after Lucile Ball. BUT, now I think I want to name it Peneolpe, and mabye call her Penny. I got this name from the Thunderbirds, which I have just recently become a BIG fan of. So what do you think?

Oh, by the way my MINI is going to be red w/ white top, and stripes(hence the name Lucy) :smile:

I'm struggling myself with a name. My dilemma is a Person Name vs. a Symbolic Name....

BTW, Do you happen to know when you scheduled production date is? I want to add you to the list above.

The Thunderbirds are SO bad, they're great!

Have you found an "official" or "fan" Thunderbirds site?

 

MiniZee: The Harand Camp link is great! I didn't go there, but I went to a camp in Muskoka (Ontario, Canada) called Camp Tamarack that seems similar.

I love the Camp photo album, especially the early years' pics!

Were you involved with the Camp, or just a happy Camper?

 

I have not yet recieved my build date from the owners lounge, but I think I am going to call 1.800.ASK.MINI tomorrow.

about Harand Camp: I was a VERY happy camper there for 6 years, and I've worked there the past two, and will be there this summer as well.

Oh yeah, I found a GREAT Thunderbirds Website, Thunderbirds Online (offical), and also, Thunderbirds are GO!

Harand Camp

 

I checked the Owner's Lounge at miniusa.com, and they moved up my est. production date from 2/7/03 to 1/31/03! I was pretty excited to hear that, and so called "Ask Mini" for the first time...

...and they told me that I'm Status 150! They started building my car today! The nice lady at Ask Mini told me that I can expect my car to be complete in about a week, and then they'll ship it over. Wow!

OK...I'm going for a drink to celebrate!

Some exciting news on the movie! Jonathan Frakes director of Star Trek will be directing the new live action Thunderbirds movie. The scriptwriter is William Osbourne and shooting for the film starts in February 2003. A release date is scheduled for Autumn 2004. Watch this space for more news to come!

 

Well I called Ask.MINI, and low and behold, I'm at status 153!!!!

It's so close I can feel it. I did decide on a name, Penny, and she will be here SOON!!

jc- I don't know what my production date was supposed to be, but my dealer said "late march delvery." Maybe it will be early march now!

If that holds, the li'l blue car'll be here near the end of March. Who knows with these things? As Barry, the salesman at MINI of Towson (MD) put it, the "E" in "ETA" still stands for "Estimated".

Has anyone received anything in the postal mail yet from MINI? I placed my order a little over 2 weeks ago and haven't seen anything yet. From other threads, people mentioned getting assorted items like the "Unofficial Owner's Manual" a couple of weeks after order.

Bill-- Placed my order with the dealership in October, and they placed the order with the factory almost a month ago. Nothing fun in the mail yet. I am under the impression that much of the fun stuff comes after you take delivery...but I could be wrong.

I placed my order 8/26 and the only thing so far is the template for spray painting "MINI PARKING ONLY". It was in a 6" x 8" envelope. Folds out to about 8"x18".

I visited the "dealer" last Friday and said he would call Crown Mini of Richmond. A phone call later, Salesperson Kelly just happend to have a cancellation and placed my order Monday.
