2004 supercharger replacement

First time mini owner and Looking for help on replacing my supercharger. I found a low mileage supercharger out of a 2005 mini and want to make sure it will fit. The salvage yard is saying according to there interchange guide it want work. To my understanding it’s the same supercharger so I’m trying to figure out what changer in the 2005 and up models. I’ve searched some thru the forums and couldn’t find anything and apologize if I overlooked the answers if already posted. Thanks

I believe the only difference is the 2005 SC impellers are Teflon Coated, otherwise it's a direct bolt-on fit. Make sure you do an oil change on the unit before you put it in your car....

I'm assuming you have an 04' Mini S based off of the thread title? If so...then yes, the SC off of an 05' will fit. I'm pretty sure all of the 02'-06' Mini Cooper S superchargers are all the same.

Yes it’s a 2004 S model. Thanks guys for the fast response. I guess I’ll jump on getting that supercharger from the 2005. They only want $500 for it and it looks like a good price here locally.

$500 is a reasonable price. Go on YouTube and search for ModMini supercharger service. He goes through the entire process and also shares the tools and replacement seals you will need. Take your time and do it with a buddy and you'll be just fine. While you are in there, consider swapping out your water pump. It is easily pulled when removing the supercharger and may save you a time-consuming service later.

I gotta shoot that fellow some $$. He's saved me thousands. (Also spent it for me because he gave me the confidence to pick one up because I can do all the work with his walkthroughs LOL!)
