2004 S supercharger service

Hey all just wondering if there is a general opinion on the updating while im doing my supercharger service of the 17 % pulley and cold range plugs. The car has 97 k on it now and runs like new but I fear that with its age and mileage that if I ignore the service any longer I will be doing the car a great dis service. While i have it all apart I have toyed with the idea of the 17% and colder plugs to give it a bit of the old grunt its lost thru the years and maybe give it back a little street fun. Is the update really going to be noticable or is the service and running it the way to go. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on the 17 and if its worth the money. To me it seems a no brainer but I have been duped before lol. thanks in advance everyone.

17% is on the high end of the pulley upgrade I 've done the 15% at about the same time, at 92K. I've been really happy with it. Other things that you may consider since you're in that area, Checking and replace the Supercharger oil. in the snout and the PTO gears area. If you are mechanically incline it shouldn't be too hard. The SC will have to be removed to check and refill the snout and PTO oil reservoirs. If the PTO oil goes dry you will ruin the PTO gears in the SC. At this point since you have all that out you might as well replace the water pump if you having already and its "O" rings gasket. Also a source oil leak is the crank shaft position sensor o ring seal, it located in the front of the block. I have personally serviced all these items but not at the same time which would have been really easy if I did.... good luck.

I just went from the JCW 11% pulley to the 17% and love it. It was not the "set you back in your seat" I was expecting. Instead what I notice is you get to speed a lot smoother and sooner. My first drive after the install I got on it and when I looked down expecting to see 70 MPH I was doing 90. It surprised me how smooth but faster it was. I thought about doing the 15% but knew that it would definitely not be enough difference going from 11 to 15. In my opinion it was worth the small amount that it cost. I was in the same boat as you. I was going to service my SC and then decided to just put on a new OEM SC from Way. So far I have had no problems and do not expect any. My next step will be a tune. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

I did my service and upgrade @ 93000.,, pulled the supercharger ,checked it and replaced the oil,, replaced the pulley with a 15% the problem was the pulley ,, even purchased the proper puller ,but that thing was on there ended up cutting it off ,, if your water pump hasn't been replaced ,, replace it while your in there ,, is the clutch original??????,mine was at the end of its use ,,, no regrets ,, car runs real good

Just upgraded to -17% pulley and ATI crank pulley last week @ ~90k, and had the supercharger serviced at the same time. Replaced the belt tensioner and installed a WMW tensioner stop, too. Go for it!

thanks for the heads up everyone I am definetly doing the service this coming month the mileage and age has me to the point I would rather do it and have peace of mind, the 17 % is definetly on the list now as well I have done every service as it comes up including the anti freeze flushing the car has the original clutch grabs good and isnt slipping or high. I dont track the car or beat on it much I do get a little spirited when driving sometimes. I must say after owning this car for a few years the quality of the parts and overall construction is great for the money payed out. I used to be a mustang guy and after a while it gets tiring doing the same mods and repairs over and over because the quality just isnt there.
