R50/53 R53 rear washer reservoir ?

R53 rear washer reservoir ?

Is there a separate reservoir for the rear windshield washer or is it fed by the one under the hood?
I can hear the pump working in the rear but there is no spray.
Clogged nozzle?

Mine has the same issue....I haven't spent the time to see if the hose is clogged or disconnected... I don't know where to even look.

Rear is fed by the reservoir on the front/right side of car. Front left is for headlamp washer if applicable. There’s only a single pump which can pump in both directions for both front and rear washing. It reverses polarity depending on where you choose to wash.

Assuming there’s washer fluid in the reservoir, then yes, a clogged nozzle is a possibility. It’s a fairly common issue remedied by removing the rear wiper arm and inserting (with fingers) a drill bit (3/32” maybe, 1/16”? I forget... the biggest that will fit into the hole) into the metal fluid outlet fitting and spinning clockwise (again, with fingers) to clear the clog.

Clogged sprayer. I have to change mine out every couple of years. It is the small plastic part that covers the connection for the arm to nozzle.

Watch THIS video from 4:09 onward for a reference to my post above...
I didn't go the power drill route, and was able to clear the clog (likely corrosion) with finger power alone.

Did you verify that no washer fluid was coming out? From the drivers seat I saw no washer fluid was squirting on the window but I heard the pump run and knew the reservoir was full. Upon further investigation I found the rear nozzle was not lined up properly. It was squirting into the under side of the wiper blade arm cover. Pulling it out a bit and realigning it fixed the problem.

Tried the drill out. Didn't work for me.
Any suggestions for a next step?
Rear panel removal?
Blow air up the fitting?

Nomad: How far did you try to insert your drill? Mine required more than I expected, but it worked. I would say somewhere between an inch and an inch and a half.

I went through the soft material until I got to be what seemed solid and probably the back of the elbow.
In other words, probably an inch and a half.
