Does anyone have pictures of 2005 mini with cle?

 

Hopefully these'll be good enough for you to see what you want to see. I originally wasn't going to get CLE or CLI, but got'em both and am glad I did.

 

CLE all the way, baby!! If it had been available in '03 I mighta gotten an MCS. Went with a Cooper instead, and the grill was one (of several) reasons. Very classic look, imo, but why is it such a %@&*#* hassle to get roof colored mirror caps (instead of chrome) if you order the CLE? That really should be very easy to do.

Thanks! I've had her for 2.5 weeks and still trying to get the last 40-50 miles of break-in finished so I can really rev-her-up! Having such a fun ride makes the 25-mile each way to work everyday a bit more tolerable. It's just too bad there's too much traffic to drive my MCS the way it was meant to be driven.

 

Thanks for the great pictures. I ordered a mcs chili red black roof and bonnet stripes and the cle. Wasn't sure if I should do the mirror caps in chrome or black. The chrome mirror caps look great on your car.

My car is awaiting transport.

You're welcome. I'm with JDS, chrome all the way. Not sure whether you're considering CLI as well, but here's a picture of mine. I think it looks good with the body-color dash! Also a peek at the Chrono pack!

I had no problems whatsoever. Told my dealer I wanted the CLE but wasn't keen on the chrome mirror caps so they're swapping them for black during prep. We called it an even exchange...the chrome caps (which are worth a bit more than the black) in exchange for the black caps + installation. It really shouldn't be a problem for any dealer to make the swap for you.

 

That's great 'cause I have some friends scratching their heads over this one.

 

My chrome grill is starting to get a little dented from road rash,but still looks great

I added Chrome grill to my 04 MCS and chrome interior without the tech and speedo and NAV since they are not available so far(need to replace whole thing, too much work, Nav chrome is not available in parts department)
so i got the air vent and shift and the cup holder parts.
got an 05 cup holder, too. they work better than the 04 ones. i kept the 04 ones in the car but backwards to whole the PS2 controler and coins!

Got my cheap mod for the a,b and c pillars chrome lined. look cool. added chrome grill from MCT way cheaper than the moss ones.
Got a chrome E brake from Rspeed. i have not mod the back lid handle yet since the cops been behind my back very offer those days so no more chrome, too much attention and too easy to reflect laser.

Total cost: $179 without the cost of 05 cup holder!
04 can be chromed too! and even cheaper!

 

I think that the CLE is alittle over-priced for what you get, compared to the CLI. Most people don't like the chrome mirror caps, so they end up with a grille and the rear hatch lip. You could just as easily trade with a MC owner for next to nothing, I would suspect.

 

I forgot to order the CLI.

 

hey wanted to say thank for your post-- i'm in the same situation- Awaiting delivery on an '06 MC S w/ CLE, and I don't want the chrome side view mirror caps. After reading your post I called my MA and asked about the swap- he said no prob- *unless* they don't have black ones in stock, which might cause a delay on the pickup date. i said, "i'd rather have the black". i think i heard him laugh and then something about "at your service".

Gotta love it!

 

I have the CLI and the CLE. Look at the pics in my gallery. They're not great pics, but the best I could do. The car's CR/UJ. Like someone above said, the chrome mirror caps aren't that great. I have some white ones and some UJ ones. I'll swap them out when/if I get some spare time.
