Let's get Gabe a job!!!
Gabe Bridger of MotoringFile fame was laid off today and is now searching for employment. Let's show him some support and get him some job leads!
Here's his quote from MotoringFile today:
It always seems to happen at the worst possible time doesn't it? You'll have to excuse this non-MINI related post but today I was laid off from my job as a creative director/graphic designer. It was completely unexpected. Due to just having bought a house (yeah - good timing) I'm going to be hitting the pavement hard and heavy to find something as quick as possible. I've been laid off before (anyone remember that whole dot-com thing) but now that I'm older and have more responsibilities I'll have to double my efforts to find something good fairly quickly.
So just this once I'd also like to ask my readers for some help. If anyone knows of any graphic design/web design full-time, freelance, or contracting jobs (specifically in the Chicago area) for someone with 5-7 years of experience please let me know by emailing me at gabriel@motoringfile.com[/email].
Beyond that I've also been toying with the idea of trying to find something within the automotive industry - even if it involves a slightly different kind of position. That could include both the press or manufacturers. Moving would have to be a considering if I go that route but I don't want to rule that out at this point. Of course the ultimate would be to work directly for MINI or BMW but open positions always seem to be few and far between there. Regardless any leads in those areas are greatly appreciated!
While this is personally pretty devastating I have no doubt I'll be moving onto bigger and better things. Of course it's still a difficult pill to swallow at the moment.
Thanks
Gabe Bridger

I was laid off back in August and the job market sucks! I hope Gabe and the rest of us can find a job that will help each of us financially. It's tough out there!

Gabe,
I would really try to pursue something with BMW/MINI. Heck, you have built at least the third most traffiked web site on Mini's in the world, and probably the most informative. You web site is much more informative than anything on the MiniUSA website, the design is really good.
