Hello All,,,,Love My Mini

After going down hard, on my 03 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, last November 2003, I decided it was time to seek a safer mode of transportation. My injuries were severe, keeping me out of work until June 2004 and another 2-wheel mishap would not be good, at all!!!!!1

So, I started doing some research. I wanted something cool, different, sporty, with a following (like HD) and safe. After seeing "The Italian Job" I started looking solely at the Mini Cooper. Well the motorcycle was sold (only had scratches and was repaired) and I ordered me a Liguid Yellow, Mini and had never even sat in one much less drive one. It arrived in August and I have been on Cloud 9 ever since.

I look forward to learning from thoses here that have already done the mods and tried different things.

Thanks for having a great site and allowing me to join!!!!

Welcome oldhippie-

Great colour choice! I hope you enjoy your new mini and the community here at NAM. If you have to make the change to four wheels it may as well be fun!

Far out! I too am an 'old hippie'. Drove my flower adorned '69 VW Beetle to Woodstock and now I have a peace sign that I picked up in Haight-Ashbury on the rear window of my '02 MCS to keep the peace message out there. I think you'll find that thinking about mods for your Mini will keep your creative juices flowing and you will feel a connection to those good old days...... especially if you're listening to Havens, Baez, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Cocker, Credence Clearwater, Jefferson Airplane, etc. while you're motoring. Hope you enjoy the ride!

Welcome to NAM, oldhippie! (I'm an old hippie, too!) After going to the Tail of the Dragon four times now, and running it with the bikers, I'd say you'll be VERY pleased with your new MINI's handling! Closest thing to a motorcycle a car can be!

You are so right Herb, had a 65 Beetle, but please don't forget Santana and Canned Heat,,, !!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!!
As a Admin at www.harleydavidsonbikers.com I had to find another place to "also" hang my Mini hat, and, I think I've found one here. The folks at HDB are some of the greatest, but there isn't much Mini talk over there.

Again Thanks Folks, and I'll try to contribute, if I find something I know about...

Clover, don't know where you are but the Tail is only a couple of hours away...We have some great twisties right near the house, but nothing like the Tail,,,,by the by,,,my Mini is an everyday driver. It has become my therapy, mental and physical.

I live in Los Angeles! I take a long roadtrip every spring and visit MINI friends from here on NAM all along the way! I've also flown east to hang with MINI friends and just got back from the Fall of the Dragon II meet on 10/24!

I have met some of the best friends ever right here on NAM. Be sure to check out the Off Topic forum for fun and wacky camaraderie!

I'm love'n it. Old hippies and LY, two of the best combos ever.
Enjoy motoring Kevin - its the best therapy ever, especially with the GD blasting away. Your grin will get wider as you mod Tweety and realize her potential.
