First i want to fix is the popping cracking in the speakers. I did a quick search and see a ton about the amps going out on these HK stereo's. I originally figured no big deal ill grab new speakers to replace but then read this tid bit about the over priced amp etc..... what are the symptoms of the bad amp ? no sound? cracking ? i couldn't find a clear answer.
shes needs some love, first up is a suspension refresh shocks and mounts
yeah it was a tough one this is the third mini in 2 months. 1st one you saw was more of a project then my wife wanted, so we sold it. 2nd one was a whole other issue i can't go into to but this one is perfect
My HK amp was bad and actually removed from the car when I got it, so I can't tell you what the symptoms are. I have a good condition 6.5" door speaker if you need a replacement. PM me if you need it.
First i want to fix is the popping cracking in the speakers.
Popping and crackling is likely not the speakers. But then it depends on the listener's experienced perceptiveness to discern voice coil rubbing, or rotted speaker cone or surround. If the presence of pop and crackle is independent of volume it is likely a HK amp problem.
after reading im going to check the amp connection when i get home tonight and maybe pull the panels to check connections on the door speakers .
I did order Bilstein replacement shocks ( not heavy duty) and front and rear shock mounts for a budget suspension refresh ( from FCPEURO.COM ) for the time being since i know the rear mounts are shot and the pass. front one is as well. They should be here by the weekend so we can get that done, hopefully.
also ABS light is on as well as DSC light. I haven't investigated that yet but any info is appreciated.
- speed sensors i will clean them up and go from there
also is there a way to disable the TPMS light as who ever swap the wheels on this didnt put them in and would rather not look at the light till i can get some new ones
EDIT
upon inspection
rear amp wasn't mounted and the wires have been spliced back together hmmm i redid the connections not much changed nor did much change when i took them apart, but the main buzzing\popping\crackling speaker is the pass door tweeter. if i cover it with my hand it sounds fine. Also the driver door lower speaker has some noise coming from it not much but a little
i leaning towards bad speakers as i beleive someone had an amp installed previously and may have over powered the speakers but its just a hunch
You really need to make a pass in my build thread, see my signature for a link. Covers a lot of what you're going through... I also have a good condition tweeter if you need it.

I just read through your thread very nice now only if i could find a JBL MS-8 hmmm
I may take you up on that tweeter ineed to pull the door panel first
I actually have a spare MS-8 in my closet, new in the box
Expect to pay about $300 for one in good used condition. They work REALLY well if you want to keep that stock look. Since the stock speakers are 2 ohm and the MS-8 is designed for 2-ohm speakers - you get 30 watts per channel, which ROCKS. I actually wired the rear 6x9 subs in parallel (or was it series, I can't remember) and connected them to the sub channel and it sounds incredible. I have extra channels too so I can run a subwoofer as well if I want. Install was a lot of work, but I have the wiring colors figured out for you if you need it.
sounds like you have the light trifecta, TPMS, DCS, ABS lights. Typically means one of the wheel speed sensors has died.
Or if you're really unlucky, the ABS module is blown (which is what caused my trifecta). Speed sensor is typical though, and reading the codes will narrow it down.

Im not throwing any codes on my carista app for the trifecta
I did throw a P0442 small evap leak so im chasing that one now
Did some work this weekend
suspension install
junkyard hunting i got new shift boot and **** , ebrake boot, new harmon amp which fixed the stereo issue
repainted the wheels a gloss black instead of whatever the previous owner did
clay barred the car and quick wax and back to black on the arches
slight hiccup on the suspension in stall the driverside knucle bolt that holds the strut in snapped . So now i need a new housing or drill it out but i put it off for now since that corner was ok suspension wise for now. Ill get to it another day when i get some nice new bits so it doesnt take a year and a day.
after suspension replacement the ABS, TPMS, and DSC lights had gone away that was untill i hit a bump then they came back, but if i turn the car off and back on they go away untill i hit a bump again.
however if i clear the code and drive all day with a few starts and stops did about 80 miles and it did not return awesome because i need to go to inspection when to run it again to pass a 100 hundred miles so the computer is in readiness mode so i can pass inspection and it came back on the next morning
I have tested this a few times now and it almost always comes back the next morning on start up.
Any suggestions other then replacing the part listed above
also i have heard mixed info about the mini being in readiness one was 100 miles and one was 4 start cycles up to temp any info would be good
The connection of one of your wheel speed sensors is probably loose, or the wire is damaged causing the trifecta of lights. If not another possibility is an issue with the ring on a wheel bearing that the sensor reads.

i am thinking possible wheel bearing since i am getting some humming so i will be swapping them all out as well since the miles are high
So i fixed the evap code with 20$ part from amazon. Then after resetting and driving 40 miles i popped a P0130 code o2 Sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 1. I have reset it and put about 30 miles on it with about 6 starts and stops so far.
I need to get this through inspection im 7 days over due. I need to get the car to readiness status otherwise NJ requires recepits from the fix to make the car emissions ready and that is just a pain in the ***
Then i replaced the driverside knuckle due to broken strut pinch bolt and failed attempt to drill it out. So i buttoned up the suspension in stall much nicer with bilsteins at all 4 corners.
then i was running through the gears and backroads on the way home and about a mile from home i took a corner from a dead stop and heard a horrible metal on metal sound and limped it home
1st thought was charger went because we havent checked the oil yet since we bought the car oops
2nd thought harmonic balancer
then i took the belt off and started spinning pulleys and the alternator sounds like there are rocks in side and it bound up so i ordered up a used one from the Junkyard and get home and well they gave me a 120amp one so now im waiting for the new one which will be in today
also waiting on some new cooling parts and gaskets from FCPeuro which should also be in today so we can work on some maintenance then maybe drive it longer then a few days before i break my wifes project again lol
