Name this hose

While doing a coolant flush and checking things over I noticed that some of the rubber around the valve cover is attacked by something. Could it be squirrels?

My 04 R50 is garaged but the previous owner had it parked on the street.

I'm planning on replacing the spark plug wires and the rubber hoses.

But I'm having trouble identifying this valve cover vent hose:

I checked Realoem, Pelican parts and ECS Tuning but could not find it listed.

Yes that sure looks like rodent teeth.

In the below thread, item #0014 has a link to Realoem where you put the make, model and year (sometimes you should know the month the car was built as well) that will then bring up all the templates with the part numbers.

I found it. Hmmm, $40 for a rubber hose. For now I'll patch it with silicone tape.

Thanks for your help.

Check with AllMagAuto to see if you can get a used one at a better price.

Had the same problem with the gas feed hose on my grill. When I went to hardware store to by a new hose, the guy said that it is very common. The rubber hoses are now made with a certain amount of vegetable oil apparently, and the squirrels like to chew on it.

Realoem prices are on the high side, shop around and you will find the parts for much less. Don't patch the hose with tape, that is beyond frugal.

Just replace it with any ½" hose, it doesn't "have" to be shaped if you don't want it to, it's only the breather hose that connects to the CAI to T/B intake hose.
Couple of bucks at your local auto parts store and you're done.
Hell pay for postage and I'll send you my old one for nothing, I don't need it any more.

Dang mice, i had things chewed before on my R52, one day it sets outside and it happens in the spring time. 13721477817 is the part # for reference.

I've found that there is no way that I can replicate the price on realoem. Was looking for a stock turbo heat shield for my R56. Realoem states the price is $48, a quick check shows prices of $70-90. This has been my experience for all parts so far.

I've been told that those prices were the actual price when "someone" typed it in - but might not have been true retail or whatever. It sounded like all parts employees or managers have access to change the prices in there and some are more recent than others. SO, those prices are irrelevant.
