Glove box latch not holding

So the latch on my 2003 "S" glovebox no longer holds the glove compartment door up (closed). It does not appear to be adjustable -- and I've never seen that to the be the case on any other car I've owned. Curious if anyone else has had this issue?... and if so, if they came up with a solution. Please, no kidding about duck tape -- sadly enough, I finally resorted to that.

I had problems with that after removing the glove box for my audio install. I fixed it by tightening/adjusting the screws that actually mount the entire glove box - I think it was the top screws that did the trick. You may have to put washers/spacers in-between the box lip and the screw holes to get it just right.

I used velcro and super glue. Seems to work fine.

I pulled the latch out of mine, and spaced it a little "deeper" with a few small washers. Now the latch engages farther into the little ledge, and holds the glove box closed nice and tight. Before it would just fall open at random times......because the little latch was just barely catching on the ledge.

It makes sense if you take a look at it up close.

For the glove box handle issues.

And for the latch side.

The same here. Velcro along the top and side. I used a heavy duty staple gun to staple the velcro to the inside of the glove box.
