don't mess with success:

For how many awards the MINIUSA webpage has been winning, perhaps the IT team figures they're better off not doing anything at all

The '05 Configurator should be here, but alas, more delays apparently

Miniusa.com is just about useless. I get more information on the 2005 MINI by going to Kia's web site.

Yea, I know. Kia has no information on the 2005 MINI, but how is that different than miniusa?

Crash proof

So many Mini people are waiting for this site to update. I would love to run a pool on how long it takes to crash once its running. Any votes? And you know they won't be fixing it under warranty.

I think a lot of people have given up on the internet. MOTH's web site still features the big news that they have nice new 2003 models to sell! When was the last time that was updated? I think somehow it has become too expensive or just too much work to keep things current.

info on the 2005s

My dealer gave me this site to go to and it was helpful (you can't "build" a MINI on it, but the info and pricing and options are all there... very helpful.

www.motoringfile.com

Hope this helps!

Thank goodness for people like Gabe at Mortoringfile! My MA also referred me to Gabe's site. It is such a shame that even MINI dealers are having to refer people to a "non-official" MINI site for 2005 specs, prices, and pics. MINIUSA are you listening or do you care?

I Found Out all About Mini on the Web - but not MiniUSA's Site

I got a phone survey from MiniUSA and the lady asked where I found out about Mini. I told her on the web at Forums and other enthusiasts sites. She thought I meant MiniUSA's official site. I have to explain to her no. She was very surprised and asked me why. I told her it a lot of useless marketing fluff and little substance. I didn't have the heart to tell her about the lack of 05 information now 3 months since folks been ordering 05 Minis.

Of course Classic Mini gets top marks while MiniUSA get a C.

I know the hold up is he design of the fancy interactive website and the configurator

I think it will serve well if they just post all those memo/price lists they sent to the dealers and let the customers figure out for ourselves.

I have yet to understand why it is taking MiniUSA so long to do all of this desgin work while EVERY other countries website has been updated. I have resorted to going to Canada's website if I want to see something on the '05 like the red dash with red seats and otherwiseI have a pricelist from my dealer. Now if they'd only give more info on the LSD

Gabe is an awesome guy. He & Matt do a great service -- for free -- to the motoring community. Just last month I paypalled him $20 to say thanks for all news I'd never find on my own.

An Invitation to Nowhere

I just received email from MINIUSA inviting me to come and configure...

So I went thinking..finally...now that my car has been on order for almost 2 weeks...I can configure it

What to my surprise??? They asked me to come and visit the 04 configurator like they're really proud of it.

Peter...who reminds MINIUSA that even Disneyland changes the rides now and then...in Denver

Yeah, mine's been on order over 3 *months.* I'm friends with the salesguy. He said, when I placed my order that the conrigurator wasn't ready yet, but would be soon. I doubt that even he thought we'd still be sitting here on Sept. 2 with no configurator.

I've got a 2003 MCS that I love. I plan to roll it into a new 2005 model, but the fact that MINI can't even get a website updated doesn't give me 'warm fuzzies' that the new model will better than, or even as good as, what I have.

I'm not planning to cancel my order yet, but...
Of course MINI doesn't care. They'll drop another waiting customer in my place without any problem. Maybe that's part of the problem?

Indeed it is...unfortunately I'm apparently not the only person who wanted to use it at this particular time.

Aside from issues of speed and ability to save...did I miss something or did it not offer me the option of Exterior Chrome Pack on the MCSC? I didn't see it.

I also was not offered the option of body colored dash/door trim on Cool Blue MCSC.

All of this is just Digital Diddling since the car is spec'd but at least I got to see it with the wheels I had to take...looks allright.

In time it'll probably be more accessable - probably just about the time we're waiting for the 06 configurator!
