Hurray for Scotty!!! And good that folks can get to the MINI Configurator again, even if it is as "slow as crap!"

Yeah, I searched all over. The armrest is there. Both are supposed to be available in January.

...then there's the ant headliner....

Can anyone explain why bonnet stripes are shown as $100 factory options and also as $79 dealer options (installation not included)?

Are they the same painted on stripes or decals like mightystripes?

In the words of SNL's Mike Meyers, "If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!"

I noticed the stripe pricing thing as well. Like in the old one, if you got front fogs, and rear fogs, it was $240. If you got both, it was $200.

The BIG thing I noticed is that BEPH shows up on the pallet as Jet Black.

On a happier note, drove a friend's '03 MINI Cooper at Thunderhill racetrack today, with 50+ others. Her first time on the track - scared the crap out of her. After the first session (I drove), she refused to drive. Fortunately she gave in, and had a great time. Spun out at 80 in another MINI - they're surprisingly stable while spinning.

I'm a bit disappointed as there are certain interior/exterior colors/combos/options I was expecting to be able to access (...and can on the Canadian site) but was unable to select on the US configurator. Maybe I'll have to wait 'til January. Anybody else found any surprises in the US configurator offerings?

Around $29,000 for a loaded MCSC (sans NAV), quite pricey... Too bad the cloth/leather combo isn't available in other colors. I quite like the look and cost of it, plus you get to keep the lumbar adjustment on the seat...

Well, just went into the site and it is still showing the 2004 configurator? Is it down?

At 10AM Eastern it's up and working, the only configurator listed is the 2005 ones. Did you use a book mark to get to the configurator, maybe that's the problem...

Yeah I notice this too. And I can only see the 2004 configurator as of a few minutes ago, where as last night I used the '05 one. Must be down

JCW Option

Any speculation as to what this might mean? It's not currently available, but could it be that the Works would eventually become a factory option?

I like the new look but why can't I get the whole configurator to display in the java screen?

I used it last night, and it was fine. Took a few minutes to load, but once loaded it worked fairly quickly.

One thing I noticed was the LY was listed as a metallic color, or at least it had the additional fee for metallic paint. I don't recall LY being metallic in prior years; was it?

Well, PH is now purple vs. black, and I was able to save the config, unlike last night. The bonnet stripe pricing might be due to installation? As an 'accessory' ($79) it has a 'installation not included' disclaimer, where as in the 'paint' ($100) section, that disclaimer doesn't exist.

2005 worked last night

But it didn't this morning...right now..the 2004 configurator came up. I was interested in the LSD and auto tranny options but neither was listed.

Want to hear something truly bizzare? A friend of a friend has a mini and he seems to think all '05 MCSs (apparently the ones ordered after January) will have LSD. I got a xerox of the same '05 spec sheet that can be downloaded at motoringfile.com and it lists this as an option with pricing TBD.

This sounds like a good deal for folks who don't want to trade in for a new mcs but want LSD.
