Hello all... I am new to this forum and been searching for answers the last couple of days and haven't been able to locate it. Forgive me if it somewhere in here and just over looked. I have a 2002 Mini Cooper S that I recently found water in the battery compartment. I did not realize this until it was too late. Long story short, car died while driving. Started to clean up area and notice 4 wires broken going to 2 small connectors below the battery cable. I cannot open the hatch due to not having a manual release. I attempted putting a charger up front under the hood and an extra battery to get some type of power to be able to open the hatch to no success. Does anyone have any thoughts? Second question is does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can fix the four broken wires?
Might have to break in from the inside, I have water in my trunk and driver side, currently trying to find the leaks. Good luck fixing those! Also maybe just a picture of the area could solve your wiring problem? Google pics.
Also, I found the current limiter or fuse, not sure what it is, corroded to where it broke while I was cleaning it. Tried looking at the auto parts online to find it but could not find anything on it. Anyone have any leads?
There is a manual release cable below the rear seat cushion. It pops up. It is held down with spring clips. That will get you into the back. I drilled a drain hole in mine when I discovered this on mine. I would go to the wrecking yard and buy the piece of wire and plugs and splice it in. Solder and shrinkwrap.
Okay, seems like it is a MEGA FUSE. Picked one up from the local auto parts store. My ALT is rated at 105A so I picked up a 100A fuse. Not sure what the original one may be. If anyone knows please advise. It is a Mini S. 2002.
Okay, replaced the fuse now the car turn on, however the check engines, TPMS, and TCS lights stay on.... thoughts?
Get a code reader and clear the codes and see which ones remain after starting/driving. Or get an auto parts store to clear them for you. (Write them down before you clear them) and the ones that come back are the only important ones.
Also if you're interested I found the leak in my trunk to be coming from the seams in the corner of the floor.
(Passenger side floor corner of the trunk behind the trim) water came from here.

He's not going to be able to clear that DSC/ASC TPMS lights with a generic reset tool.
