Type of Loaner Car?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to know what loaner car you got when had your mini in for service. I had to get my transmission fix. something with the bearing and my window didn't work. I have an 04 mini s it's only 6 months old too. I got a 04 mini cooper s British green with only 500 miles. It had the number two package. .....Great loaner car.......

Loaner? Ha! I love my dealer, and they do great service...but as with the majority of MINI dealers, their "loaner" is called "Well, you could rent a car from Enterprise."

Thus I spend a lot of time catching up on my Fox News Channel watching in their lobby.

Yeah, it was fun. Service guy said, "It's a manual, but since your Cooper is, I take it that's okay with you?" I said, "Um, yeah."

He calls later in the day saying they'd have to keep my MINI overnight because they got behind, so I had it for a while. I put some miles on that sucker!

It was a lotta fun, but I was very glad to get my MINI back.

I got a loaner...

At my second maintenance my dealer provided a loaner through Enterprise. They gave me a brand new Cadillac Deville...full leather, the works. "A luxury car for a luxury car," the enterprise guy said. I just stood there and looked the behemoth, unsure if I was happy or disappointed. "Oh well, it's free...!"

I got a Cooper CVT as a loaner when my rack was being put on. Long story but I had that car for two weeks and got quite a bit of enjoyment slamming up and down with the "stick". It was nice to have something a little different but the Z4 would have been much more fun. Temporarily of course...

 Nick Alexander MINI in L.A. offered me a free Nissan Sentra, or gave me the option of paying $5 for an upgrade to either a Montana minivan or a Chevy Trailblazer. I chose the Trailblazer!

There's an Enterprise employee right on the premises of the dealership to accomodate customers needing loaners. I sure was glad to get my Wanda back, though. As I sat at a very long traffic signal, I watched the fuel needle go down...what a gas-guzzler...and what a gushy suspension! Truly like a boat rocking back and forth!

I got a BMW 525i. Big, heavy, slow and ugly brown.

I was supposed to get a MINI but someone needed a car right now and the MINI had gas in it and the BMW didn't. So they got the MINI . The BMW had gas put in it by the time I got there to pick it up.

My dealer, Lauderdale MINI, currently has a fleet of 3 or 4 brand new Cooper CVTs for loaners. Last time they gave me a LOADED (Nav, the whole 9 yards) '04 Cooper CVT with only 50 miles on the clock. Very sweet ride.

One time last year, they gave me a brand new BMW 325i sedan automatic loaner.

Great service, no complaints here.

We don't get 320i BMWs in the USA. Do you have pics? What engines do the 320's have?

The lowest BMW model you can get here is the 325i equipped with a 2.5L 6-inline 184HP engine.

Once I got an MC 5 speed and another time I got an MC CVT.

Both were good but I liked the CVT more just for the fun of it.

New Country Minin in Hartford gives a Toyota Camry. Nice but then the wife gets ideas of me getting a more family type car. Not going to happen.

MC 40 loaner

I have an MC 40 04 MCS as a loaner from Prestige MINI (they are the best). The car only had 30 miles on it when I picked it up. Now thats a great loaner car and great customer service!

MC40 as a loaner .. wow!

I got a Mustang Convertible earlier this month from Habberstadt in LI, NY. They were all out of loaner cars and had an AVIS employee on site with loaners.

Had some good time with the top down, cannot complain

What do they give a loaner for? repair only? or service too?

Warranty related repairs that require your MINI to stay overnight at the dealer and also in some cases for scheduled maintenance if you can't wait for the car or if the service dept will not get to work on it the same day.

The last 2 service visits they have given me a Cooper CVT loaner for the day!

325i... didnt enjoy a second of it... being in my MINI, I enjoy seeing maybe 2 other cars like mine each day, and even then they are so different from mine. While I had the 325i for all of 8 hours, I must have seen at least 2 dozen other 325i's, and about 5 of them were the same color.

It also felt super sluggish and I just felt like a total douchebag in the thing.... not my style of car at all!
