Any dashboard wiring experts out there?

Hi guys and gals!

I'm putting the dashboard back together of my 2004 non-navigation R53. I have come across a snag and I need some help. I have an extra wire that I cannot figure out where it connects to.

The wire in question is a four pin to wire connector. The wires are orange/black and violet/white. I don't remember if this thing connected anywhere in the first place but I don't want to put everything back together without knowing for sure.

I have enclosed a couple of pictures but will take better ones if anyone has some guidance to provide.

Thanks!

In that Second picture the wire is the one that goes off the page to the left. You can't see the terminator.

Not sure if it'll help but I just took another look and the wire in question kinda splits off from the bottom of the dash switch module up around just behind the speedo. I could really use some help.

Describe what you were doing. What things you took apart and which components you disconnected during the process.

I took apart the entire dash....not just a little bit...the entire thing. The auto climate control levers were broken and I realized that the only way to repair them was to take the whole dash. So the whole thing and every single component was disconnected.

If anyone is willing to check, I'm pretty sure you could see the cable if you took the trim and the speedo off. Couple of clips and four screws.

I took a quick look at wiring diagrams and didn't find the wires with those colors. If it doesn't plug into a component but into a connector coming off another bundle, it would be hard to search for it in the diagrams.

Thanks! That's a good point and I'll continue to look for another wire bundle as well. I looked at the wiring diagrams as well and came up empty too.

Update for anyone that can help:

I realized that I had the colors wrong for the cable based on looking at wiring diagrams. They are actually:

Violet/White (VI/WS)
Brown/Black (BR/SW)

Thanks!!!
