R50 Boot & Bonnet MINI Emblems

Most of the black finish has worn off both of the emblems. Anyone know what type of paint is used? Is it baked on?

Just buy new ones. I just replaced mine. They come with tape attached. Now the back of my car looks new again.

You can get them at all major mini retailers. Out motoring, ecs tuning, mini mania, your local dealer. I ordered mine from rmeuropean while ordering other various parts as they have free shipping on orders of $70 or more. My goal is to totally restore my r53 and get another 10 years out of it.

The front emblem has two "pins" that position it, correct?

Whenever I see a MINI with the insert missing on the badge(s), I have to wonder what else is being neglected on the car. When I bought my car it was missing the black portion of badge. I've since caught up with the maintenance that was not done and yes, I have a new bonnet badge. Makes the front look new again. Took about 20 minutes to replace using a hair drier and dental floss. A little Goo-Gone to clean up the residue and the rest is icing on the cake. I still look at it almost every time I get in the car.

guess your one to judge a book by its cover then, I see plenty of crappy cars with 1,000 dollar wheels so I'm not sure it's proof of much.

Well, I am putting a new clutch and a set of Bilsteins on the car as we speak. Hopefully I'll have some bucks left over for emblems...

We keep them in stock as we see them missing all the time. Most the time it's car washes that wash them away.

We have them here and some tricks :

Setting the car in the sun or heat helps pull the old one off and +1 on the dental floss trick , working for the sides first seem to help.

Removing of the foam residue the some WD40 or any other substance of similar removal chemical will work, prep the surface clean helps adhere the new one, remove all the grease.

Line it up with the pins and make sure its aligned properly straight.

Just make sure you get the correct emblem for the front. Peal and stick application.

Gen 1 R53 & R52 MINI Cooper S "Hood" Emblem is smaller Part number 51140660106
