Phone Mount and Cup Holder Upgrade

I got my R53 JCW just a few days ago and have not been able to find a cell phone holder that I like.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Mainly I want something to hold my phone for Navigation purposes, so nothing down by the cup holders.

Also, any good cup holder insert recommendations to increase the cup holder size to something larger than a can of Red Bull?

Motor On!

Mini-Fini makes this one. It worked well but I just sold it. One of the vendors on NAM will have these. I think they run about $40-45. I just bought 2 machined aluminum cup holders. It has a part that fits in the original cup holder then extends out to the foot well with a large cup holder. These will set you back $100 a piece unless you can find them used. I'll post a photo if I can find it. Congrats on the new JCW!

Your primarily looking for a cellphone holder?

Pricey, but both of my Minis have the Cravenspeed universal cell phone holder. They also have specific versions for the iDevices.

The Mountek one on Amazon that mounts to your CD player slot is good. I also recently bought a magnetic vent clip-on one on Amazon. The magnets are brilliant. The position is a little off because the bottom left corner of the screen is blocked by the steering wheel. I think the CravenSpeed is probably the best design though I've never tried one myself. I have an R55. There are other threads on the topic.

get the mount from Craven. I had my MINI fir 6 years before I did, and it changed my life. Don't be a 'ron like me.

I wanted to plug my phone into a hardwired charger and into the AUX input, so I got a clip from Proclipusa.com Item #: 853245, that mounts on the dash by the top of the downtube. Then you buy whatever holder that fits your phone to attach to the clip. Keeps the wires more tidy.
I put the charge inside the dash with just enough wire out to reach the phone.

This mount is pretty awesome and well priced. Do some pretty aggressive driving and it holds the phone quite well.

I've got a Cravenspeed mount and it is fantastic. It's much sturdier than it looks.

From a safety perspective, I'm wary of anything that mounts directly to the dashboard. While the passenger airbag is supposed to blow through a pre-defined cutout section of the dash, those have been known to fail, resulting in the entire top dash trim popping up. You don't want to make a bad situation worse by having loose equipment propelled around the cabin by the airbag's force.

I had a few extra go pro parts and made this. It holds the phone really well plus I still can use the go pro....

I Have The Cravenspeed, It's great!! Unfortunately, I got a 6+ For Christmas, which isn't a bad thing but, the Cravenspeed doesn't open wide enough to hold a 6+. So, I bought the Ram Mount which, if you ask me Is a better holder. Doesn't look as good though.
