Still trying to figure out this bonnet

I've posted this a couple years back now, but still haven't really got many leads on to what it could possibly be. Was just wondering if all you fine people have possibly ran into this hood through your searching and would be able to point me in some sort of direction on where to turn. As always any help would be greatly appreciated from all the NAM'ers.

I think I saw that being custom built on another web site along with another one that had vents on the sides above the fenders. I will try and remember which site it was. If or when I do I will post it for you.

Yeah Saltysalt the last time i looked into this, I was getting to the conclusion that i could possible be a custom made jobbie, but I definitely wouldn't mind finding out if it was and if so, would there be anyway to get a hold of this person to see for sure..... Not really in the mood to go all out and replicate something that's already SPOT ON, imo, and seems to dissipate heat greatly (guessing of course).

I will keep you guys quickly informed on how this all pans out. Like I said I have a couple emails to the owner of that car now, and maybe if he sees that theirs an interest from at least three of us now , who knows, hopefully he'll let us in on this. (Even if he did custom make it. . . ). But we'll see, haven't heard anything back as of yet.

@astroBlackMetallic_Mini: Your always getting beautiful wings, scoops, etc, so I'm glad your into this hood also. I agree it definitely makes it look meaner that the org.

**Keep you guys posted in the morning** -or if I hear from them tonight. . .

That's a pretty low resolution image of that scoop? Not sure if I'd be able to help you with that. Maybe direct that to astro. He has seemed to have them all, from what I remember. haha. Then again its been a little while since I've been on here posting.

@astroBlackMetallic_Mini :: you used to have that Pablo uber or whatever scoop (that was you right?) I always thought was one of the best made for our cars. Sucks you can't really find that anywhere anymore man, cause that was a scoop that was designed with the definite mean look! I'd love to be able to get my hands on this good of a scoop, but I guess they quit making that and all, and know I haven't seen quite anything at all close to comparable. . .

I also see you posted something about someone's Facebook page that you were looking for that was making scoops and whatnot for our cars, have you got anywhere with that yet?

Quick question with that scoop though, did you ever have it dyno tested at all, or was it mainly just a cosmetic scoop. Just seemed like it wanted to really push/force air into the top mount like no other. I obviously could be wrong, but when you were selling that thing i would have done anything to pick that up from you, cause as far as I know their "extinct" in the mini world, which blows. But anyways, if you do know of anyways to get a hold of one of those puppies you gotta let me know, I'll never forget your car when you were running that scoop. Seemed top notch. If you would still have yours which I highly doubt you should seriously contact me. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to take that off your hands!!!!

Sorry for the low res. I took it from an old cell camera years ago from a magazine. It looks custom- looks to be the hood cut+formed above the CAI

Hey astroBlackMetallic_Mini were you also the one fortunate enough to sport this "grill" for a while??

Just saying man, you've had many parts that I've wanted throughout the years of owning mine. You have great taste.

Bonnet made by Schafer Club-sport in Germany

That part is from Schafer, they make a bunch of stuff, website is:

mini-clubsport.com

They also make some louvered cf vents you can drop into the bonnet, but I have to say that as much as I like the idea of getting intercooler heat out from under the hood, all of that heated air is going to pile up in the high pressure zone at the foot of the windscreen where our cold air inlets are.....some smoke flow studies in a wind tunnel would probably be helpful in determining the optimal exit.

Anyway, there stuff is spendy, not to mention hard to find over here, but as least you can go see what they are up to.
