Rear fog light wiring question

Have 05 justa . My mini is already pre-wired for a rear fog light but I don't have a switch in the panel for it . Can someone give me advice on what to do . Is it possible to wire it in so it will come on with my front fogs ?
Any advice , tips or tricks would be great .
Thanks .

Assuming you have the factory fogs, all that should be necessary is to hook it up and probably have the computer re-programmed. You might be lucky and not have to, but that doesn't seem to be how things work.

The basic steps are:
  1. Install the rear fog lamp, and plug in the pre-wiring.
  2. Swap your toggle panel with one that has a full set of switches. Shop for a used panel on eBay, or new one costs about $160 (http://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2005-C...itch/ES167631/).
  3. Have a dealer activate it on the computer.
The official instructions are here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t_Retrofit.pdf

Thanks for the detailed info and part numbers .
Is it possible to wire the rear fog light to the front fog lights . I thought maybe I could piggyback off the front fog lights so when I hit the the one switch , they both come on . Has anyone ever done this .

sure. just run a wire! ive done lots of that type of wiring to my mini. Your biggest concern will be whether you want to run it on the inside or outside of the car; should be a pita regardless, so dont worry

ive hard wired the rear fog to come on with regular lights, same with the front fogs. i dont even use the switches anymore.

fwiw, you may want to consider swapping that rear fog Bulb to an LED. mine was getting very hot with continual usage; alarmingly hot actually.

Anyone add custom LED illuminated switches to their switch panel? I wouldn't mind having the tip of the switch glow orange when the rear fog is on.

Cool . As much as I would love to do it right and get the new toggle bank but $250 + dealer fee to reprogram it just to have a rear fog is a lot to pay . I'll look into running a wire from the back to the front and piggyback off my front fogs so when I hit the switch the rear will come on to.

Really? The rear fog is annoyingly bright and makes you look like you're driving around with a brake light stuck on. Better to wire it to the brakes instead.

I like the idea of an added reverse light instead. Get the clear lens instead of the red. Wire it to reverse lights. If you have tinted windows it makes it a lot easier to see at night.

I went with the kitchen sink approach: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-extreme.html
