true straight pipe question

Has anyone cut the battery out of the back and welded the floor/moved it into the trunk? If not the trunk where was it moved to? I want to move my battery up so I can run a true straight pipe back. Did it effect the handling at all? Did anyone need extra bracing?

I've done it on my car, I still need to decide on a lighter battery, so right now, I'm just running a Red Top sitting on the plate. The plate will be replaced by a thinner one and welded rather that bolted. The extra bolts in the middle are the ones that hold the muffler hanger. My exhaust is not completed tho, I have all the parts here, except for the header. I gave the Dynomax VT a try after the One-Balled oem muffler decided to split open (age and rust). Sadly, the trap in the VT was making a hell of a rattling noise, so I just ripped it out and it's a tad too loud for me... and the cops.

I plan on getting an RMW header to go with what I have, which will be a modified oem cat so it match the 2.5" exhaust, Vibrant 18" resonator with a Borla Turbo muffler. And the Borla will most likely be ditched for a XForce muffler if it's still too loud.

As far as balance go, of course running an heavy battery higher up isn't the best idea. A lighter one will pretty much cancel any negative effects.
