Has your MINI made you smarter/better?

This car has launched me into areas I had little or no previous knowledge of....and I'm lovin' it! How about you?

Case in point.....hail storms and other forms of inclement weather. Before......whatever. After my MINI.....tracking 3 different weather radar systems, glued to the radio, and identifying previously unknown places of shelter. (...for my MINI, that is!) I've become quite the meteorologist!!!

Another.....never had the privilege of being an automotive ambassador to complete strangers of all.....really, ALL.....ages. Great fun!

An then.............there's detailing!

My MINI has made me much more relaxed and less agressive on the road...I think I'll live longer

I may not be "smarter" or "better" but I sure know a lot more about cars than I did pre-MINI. After delivery, I read books like "How Cars Work" and spent hours pouring through all the great NAM threads. Eventually I got hooked on modding and now can talk about things like rear swaybars that I didn't even know existed one year ago. I am handier too and feel like I can do more things myself, like I installed a cat-back exhaust. Another symptom: I sometimes watch the Speed channel on cable, which I never tuned into pre-MINI. So again, not sure about smarter/better, but I sure am having fun with this new hobby.

Definitely. I've become more popular too, amongst young and old alike.

i'm not sure about smarter, but since getting my Mini "I am thin and gorgeous"!

fuh reel doh, i get lots of compliments on my Mini, not just about the car itself, but about me and the car. I'm a measly 5'5" guy, and people are always commenting about what a perfect fit we are!

Since I have had Hansum Rob, I have gained an interest in F1 racing. Also in taking care of my S so much, I reallly got into detailing, which the experience from detailing my own car earned me a summer job detailing others!

It's made me smarter about cars and better at appreciating why they can be so much more than just transportation. I've yet to meet any NAM members face-to-face but have learned much from them. That includes not only Mini tips, but an array of other things in Off Topic from best barbeque sauces and grills, places to see when traveling, good lip balms, new music to listen to...it is endless. Also, as an older coot (54) it's really helped me get to know and appreciate the humor and wisdom of those younger than me.

Cool cars and cool community of owners.

As I was a perfect human being before I got PKT RKT, I could not have possibly been improved. It has taught me, however, not to be too rash and jump in to a car not knowing the full implications of its color......I rue the day I got this slow and ugly little beast...it should be a lesson to all contemplating a BRG job.....beware....don't do it....Red or white jobs are much cuter and a LOT faster.....plus they are babe magnets........I don't really need mine to be....I am pretty magnetic myself......as well as shy and not at all conceited or anything.....

I have met SO many good friends since joining the MINI cult! And I have had the pleasure of actually hanging out with many of those MINIacs, on both of my cross-country roadtrips. I encourage y'all to meet NAM members....really a great group with varied interests.

I think having a MINI has made me much smarter about cars, in general, and about how to do things on the internet. I was never active on the 'net until I hooked up with NAM, Roadfly, and MINI2! The idea of having friends all over the country and around the world because of our shared passion for our fun little cars is still very amazing to me.

Has my MINI made me smarter/better?

Well. How interesting a question.
My MINI is an object. Maybe loved but still an object.

If I have gotten smarter or better since my ownership of a MINI, then it occured by choice. I choose to learn more and try to grow as a person but whether it was by ownership of a car or a hobby or another activity is by my choice as a self conscious human being as we all are.

So we should all take credit for our own growth and appreciation for things and people that were not part of our awareness before we became part of the MINI family.

I thank all of my teachers on MCO/NAM over the past 15 months and I hope this is a start to a new segment in my life marked with enrichment and fullfillment. Afterall it's fun as heck.

Dobby has turned me into a speeding ticket waiting to happen. He just never wants to go slow! My Civic was happy going 60-65 on the freeway. Dobby insists on nothing slower than 80. That's a Bad Dobby. I'm also learning about his "limitations" around turns and now I rarely slow down for them.

It's made me a more agressive driver. BUT, I REALLY enjoy driving now!

Yes, it has. I can now heel and toe with the ball and pinky of my right foot.

Ive been heel toe-ing on traditional pedal setup physically using my heel and
toe (ball) of my right foot and so it felt kinda weird at first driving this
organ pedal setup on the MCS.

Now Im ready to drive both pedal setups.
