R50/53 Corvette sawblade wheels
Corvette sawblade wheels
What sizes are people running on their R50/R53? I want them to either be barely tucking pretty much so no poke. I keep seeing that the rear's are like 10-11" which probably won't fit so what would I have to do, buy two front sets and so the rear's will fit?
These are one choice i'm considering for my Indi Blue RWD R53 project i'm 3 months into which will be done around July/August. Other choices for wheels are VW Monte Carlo's, VW Detroit's 17" version (still machine finish like the 18" version, i'm pretty sure they're aftermarket to get them like that tho), Corvette Sawblade's the 1988 C4's and the 1991 zr1's cast surface style, Rotiform Nue's, or BBS RS's.

As far as I know the cast surface sawblades are all 17x9.5. So not only are they waaay too big for an R53 but you'd have to run adapters which would lower the offset a lot. Better start looking for something different.
There was a guy in jersey running sawblades on his lowered black R53, he used to be on this forum, i believe he sold the car.....i believe he had the 8.5" versions all around, they would knock his plastic arches in the front off, but they looked really good.
I have a set of polished 17X9.5 sawblades off my '96 that is just gathering dust. I wish they would fit my R56. I think 275's would be a little large for those small wheel wells though.

... or you can get a set of wide arches to contain all that awesomeness
Nope he's right. Definitely do this ^

They look terrible on everything, even Corvettes. If you want to be a V-dubber, notch your frame, bag the car, and install hardwood laminates in the trunk / hatch area. Add a Thule roof rack, and top it all off with a Unicycle mounted to the rack. I say that Tongue-in-cheek, obviously.
You're considering two types of antiquated Chevrolet rims, and then a set of classic BBS... If you must Stance / Poke / Dip / Slam, the answer, my friend, is BBS RS.
