2002 Mini Cooper S Radio Question

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2002 Mini Cooper S, which I LOVE!!!! I wanted to know if anyone is familiar with the radio. I believe it is the original radio. I see a phone looking icon and want to know if there's a way to connect my phone to it. I have attached the picture of what I think is the phone icon. It's the second icon above RDS.

Anyone have any experience with this radio? How do I connect my phone?

Thanks!

im not 100%, but im 99% sure there is no sort of phone button. i own a 2003 cooper s and it didnt have one.

if you car came with the owners manual, i would suggest flipping through it. it will tell you what pretty much every button, ****, and switch in the car does.

if it did not come with a manual for some reason, try to search around a bit. theres a lot of info on this site about the factory radio. ill take a look at my manual and see if i can help you out.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, the car did not come with the radio manual. But I found this manual (http://www.*********************/pdf...dio_Manual.pdf) which is supposed to be the radio manual for 2002-2007 Minis. And looks the same as my radio. I didn't find the phone icon that I have on my radio in this manual though :(

It's just weird to me that the phone icon is on the radio but I can't figure out how it works, if it works, or how to activate it.

Not equipped....
Remember....
The radio's display is the same display used in the BMW business stereo....
There is also Dolby symbols, etc...all unused.

Just a thought...
Every freebie in a 10+ year old car has been documented....
Parts were used that were often generic.... Like the display...made in volume for many cars....
The 2002 does not even have mp3 or line in jacks....those were added in later updates to the same radio....

But there are good aftermarket Bluetooth adapters. I have a Motorola and love it. It hooks to the factory radio with cables from Mickey the Mini.
