Small, round pedals hurt feet

The clutch pedal has been causing a lot of pain to my left foot. I wear soft sole shoes, and the small, convex pedal is causing some issues. I've tried a couple of those clamp on pedal cover replacement options from the auto part stores, and they help with the pain, but the clamp on systems are pretty bad, and I'm not sure I want to drill all those holes in the already small supports. I saw an older thread where someone mentioned a pedal cover option that didn't require awkward clamps or lots of drilling. Does anyone know of a MINI friendly option, preferably an inexpensive one? Anyone else have this issue? It's only the clutch that bothers me.

Thanks!

Do you have the stock pedal pad or the Stainless w/ the rubber inserts ? Maybe your missing the pad all together?

Stock pedal pad: Mostly found on the Cooper ( Non S ) . Part # 35216765620

Or

Stainless Steel Inlay Rubber Pad Part # 35206758751

Those are the factory MINI options.

Thanks

You could go to the stock ones as its a more flat surface for soft shoes? They slip off and slip back on. Check out the pics.

Thanks

An idea that might be cheaper and easier is change your habit when it comes to your foot wear whan driving your car. When I drive I either have my Cole Hann driving shoes on or L.L. Bean camp mocs but since I don't have a third pedal I don't have your problem.

Bare Foot

No I don't mean to be rude. Have you tried without shoes? Just socks? Then there is adjusting the seat up or down.

I had a similar problem which is why I opt for an automatic in rush hour. I think lots have to do with the force of pushing which you can't change. That varies by cars. All are different with the pressure.

Thanks all for your responses. I haven't tried without shoes, but I think that would make the matter worse. I press with the ball of my foot, and it seems like the thinner/softer the soles of my shoes, the more my foot tends to wrap around the width of it. It feels like it's stretching some of the connective tissues. I may very well have a foot problem that has never manifested except under this specific pressure (it also doesn't bother my right foot at all). It does seem like it's doing some damage though, as I can feel the pain all day when I have the stock cover on. When I've tried the cheap clamp on pedal covers, which are slightly wider and flatter, the pain disappears after a couple of days, so I think finding a suitable replacement will be the solution. My concern is the lack of meat to drill into for securing the replacement covers, but I'll shop around and see what I can come up with. I'll post some pics if I find a good option.
Thanks again NAM!

I wear wrestling shoes in my 2013 JCW manual. The rubber may be thin on the bottom, but it is hard. No matter if the rubber is on your foot or on the pedal, it's still rubber. I keep my heel on the floor and rotate the foot backwards using the heel as a pivot point sliding the foot on the clutch pedal. Works for me!!
