R50/53 Average...mileage per year ?
Morn'n all,
I'm sure that this might have been done...but I can't find a thread after searching...so.....here goes ...anyhoo
I've been reading posts as of late and noticing milegae posts and cyfering months of ownership vs. mileage... and wondering what's the average (if that's a plausible request) of mileage per year ( or per month if that 's your position... currently.)
I've just about completed 23 months of ownwership/driving (July 5th will be exactly (2) years) and currently have..... 40,100 miles.
A simple calculation shows I average....
~1744 miles per month
or
~60 miles per day.
Everyone I share this with tells me I have "ALOT" of miles on my MCS.
I understand that average is a relative term...but I'm wondering (as I do  )....what is the average mileage for our members here on NAM ??????
Please chime in and ..... let's see where we are at ...as a group
Peace,
D

Well, I hate seeing the miles rack up so fast, but they do!!!!! I will be at 9 months of ownership this coming Sunday and I am at 26,400 miles. That will come out to 35,200 miles for the year if I keep up the same average (approx 3,000/month and 100/day). That is what I have been averaging for the past six years. I sold my 5 year old Mustang (bought new) with 156,000 miles on it.
One big different between the MINI and the Mustang though.....I look forward to driving EVERY day!!!!!!!

When I was working as a consultant, I was driving about 20,000 miles a year; most of my clients were within about a 50 mile radius. Last year, I changed my career to teaching and work about 3.5 miles from my home. Current miles per year: 11,600.

Our island is only 40 miles wide. It would be hard for me to drive an average of 60 miles a day unless I was a traveling salesman.
I have three cars for my family so that cuts mileage more.
My MCS got about 10,500 miles in a year. That's 202 miles per week or 29 miles per day average.

Hey D,
I just may be one who drives the least, as in 7 months I have only put 3300 miles on my MINI, so that's about 6k per year. I live within the beltway of Wash DC, with terrible traffic, so I just don't have the incentive to get out more. My commute is 11 miles each way. One Friday nite at around 7:00 , I drove to McDonalds, only about 6 blocks (1/2 mile or more) and the driving part of the trip took 25 minutes (round trip), so I don't even like to get out. Also, we have our groceries delivered by the market (Giant is the grocery store and Peapod is the name of their on-line delivery service). When I lived in San Diego I put 11-12k per year on my cars, which was not a lot either.

For the last 6 years or so I tend to average about 23,000 - 25,000 miles per year on each of our two vehicles. I do a lot of traveling to see family/friends. Work is 25.1 miles each way. The funny thing is that I enjoy driving this much, even when it's in my Honda Civic
Man I don't know what it is but ever since I got the MINI I've never had so many miles on a car! In the first year I got about 16k, that's a lot I think! And now 3 months past the 1st year already 20k, so again, it should be 32k in just 2 years at this rate. Dang!
