I usually leave mine set on average speed. I’ll zero it out as I’m driving to work in the morning to check my cruise control speed. My speedo is about 4 MPH off and the OBC is dead on accurate. I drive to work between 3 and 4 AM through nothing but speed traps and I’ve never been stopped once, but see plenty who do.
I leave mine on mileage. If I drive real nice on my stop and go to work, I can get it up to 27-28 mpg and then I see that Civic Si and it drops down to 21-22 mpg in the first quarter mile. Then its another week of driving real nice on my stop and go to work, then I see that Ford Focus SVT...AAAAAGhhhh!
Set to MPG 90%, check Temp when I get started motoring and average speed after longer trip's. I use the mileage range left after the fuel indicator alarm light's up to remind me to get gas. All in all it's a neat feature that I use all the time. Love this MINI!
I leave it set at "speed" readout 98% of the time in my '04 MCS. Since the '02 Cooper does not have OBC, I have no choice but to always see the exterior temp read out.
how many hidden features are there on the OBC? it come with the Ave. speed, MPG,Temp, and Miles remaining in tank. but what other features does it have that have to be turned on?
oh and by the way i leave mine on miles remaining in tank.

But hey, that's why you really got this car for right? Cause it's a blast to drive, not for mileage. There are plenty of cars out there that get better mileage if that's what you're really after.
