Stock or not?

Hello NAM, i've just bought a 03 MCS last week and i wonder if my car is stock..

It has to what looks like stock exhaust, intake is stock yet i can clearly hear the supercharger whine above 3000 and it is loud!

Also, my exhaust pops when letting the gas out at 3000~ rpms, but i know that only 2005+ minis do that?

Does that mean it might have a pulley installed?

I tried a 0-60 test yesterday and got 7.9 twice, could go down to 7.5~ on a good road maybe, is that ok?

btw it has 106k miles

Take pictures of the engine bay...look for the belt....you will see it...
Most aftermarket pulleys are shiny.... Lol..and have a few bolts...
OEM is hot pressed steel...looks very different...

Check if both your exhaust ***** are there.

Could be a dirty system too. Popping doesn't sound right. I'm new to mcs but not sure on popping. You could have a bad sensor somewhere. It does sound like you have a pulley. Mine doesn't whine till around 3500 and its not really loud.

Well. I would go to a pick and pull junk yard. Find a mini and pull that part. Cost you an hour and $25

Otherwise maybe you could jb-weld a small plate on it for now. Not the best fix. But would do the job for a couple weeks or so till you find a better fix.

Don't jb-weld. I guess the big name auto stores carry exhaust cement. Find some and patch your hole with it. Just dab it on till its covered. Let it harden. Follow the instructions. Bla bla bla. :-)

Will do that once the weather stops raining!

So, why am i getting 7.9 on 0-60?

Anybody know?
I launched it at around 3k rpms, released the clutch quickly but didn't dump it. Could be .3~sec faster if i shifted faster to 2nd but that's it

Also, elevation about 900ft

Edit: My car has no options at all! The only thing i can think of is heated front seats. No sunroof, no cruise control etc

7.4 seconds is stock. There are quite a bit of factors. 7.4 is probably ideal to sell the car. 7.9 with a hole in your exhaust, your lack of driver skills vs their professional driver and the wear on your tires, your weight. The slight elevation. The wind or barometric pressure where you are. The dirt in your air filter. The age of your engine and damage from abuse. The spark plugs are dirty and corroded so not firing 100% of the time... On and on.

Well thx for the info, i guessed that too..

I'll keep saving for maintenance hopefully installing a new belt, spark plugs, pulley, tensioner stop and maybe check the guides etc

is that all is should do or is there more preventive maintenance?
thx for your help
