My dealer rotated my tires today,$24.00 CND,I don't do the math anymore.
33,000 kilometers,It felt different right away, even at low speeds, but not anything that regular motoring does not even out, I plan on using the stock tires ,all season's,till they
REALLY NEED to be replaced with more or less the same tyre

I've heard mixed thoughts on this. Some say rotating evens out the tires, others say it just takes one bad tire and moves it to another location.

I am putting a new set of Goodyear F1's on Thursday. Anyone else have thoughts on the subject?

The TireRack strongly recommends against putting moderately worn front tires on the back of your MINI. After living with this set-up for a month I can verify that it's a bad idea if you drive aggressively.

Rotating tires is the only way to get even wear from front/rear tires, especially on a fwd car. If you wait too long, then who knows, BUT: I still believe it's better because they will still even out. In a well balanced car like the Mini with stability control, the chances of a problem from uneven f/r wear is reduced. I rotate every 3500 miles or so. Usually rotation is free from where you bought or mounted your tires.

I ride Goodyear F1's on Centerline RPM rims, dark silver, in my MCS '03 w/ all packages, CAI etc.

I don't like my tires much. They drift too easily. I attribute this to a tread design more about style than function. (big thin <<<< sipes, no blocks) They are probably good in the wet, but I drive dry most often. Michelin Pilot Sports are teh best tires in my book. They will be my next ones. Damn the cost!

many of us rotate tires every 3000 to 6000 miles. Sometimes you can go longer like 7500 miles if you do easy street driving or lots of highway miles.
The more negative camber you have in the rear the more often you can rotate your tires to help even out the wear.

Be sure to keep tire inflation up all the time. Check it at every gas fill if you can.
You won't be able to tell by sight. Get a good tire pressure gauge. A well inflated tire will perform better in wet or dry and get the best gas mileage.

$24 CDN is like six proper dollars and 38 cents.....great price for a tire rotation

I think rotation is a plot by the industrial/military complex to rob us unsuspecting saps of 24 CDN (6.38 proper) every once in a while. do the math....I bet it adds up to BILLIONS upon billions.....I am telling you....it is a plot to rob us blind.....

Had to visit my tire dealer yesterday as I'd damaged a Pirelli runflat that req'd replacement. While mounting the tire he mentioned he'd not seen many folks replace the run flats, he was usually mounting something else. Of course that was when the runflats wear out. He says, you probably will too when your's wear out...what have you got, about 10,000 on these. No, 21,000. Oh - you rotate them huh?

I agree! And that goes for any front wheel drive car. Bad things can happen in the rain.

I am rotating every 5k to keep them close.
