auto door lock, Pully

Hi everyone, I just purchased a used Mini cooper S 2003 with 100K miles on it.

things that Im trying to figure out is when I start driving the car, It automatically locks the doors, how can I disable that option ?

secondly the car has a weird exhause system installed that I will be changing soon, Im wondering to see if this car has a pully installed to it or not. how can I find out ? Im trying to purchse a 15% pully and get it installed.

much appreciated, hope I didnt make you guys laugh too much

Auto locking is one of the dealer programmed options...gen1 cars do not have an easy way to change these options without a dealer fee of 30-60 minutes....
There are a couple ways to hack the computer with an cable and software....but not super easy.
Pulley...
First look at it....if it is black, steel, no bolt holes, it is OEM. Reduction pulleys are almost 100% of the time bolt on, CNC machined....

I had the same question when I got mine.

Here's a pic of mine,... I had same question a few months ago, so i measured and photographed it.

Mine is stock, and my measurement is not very precise (hard to get the tool in there) but just under 70mm.

I didn't know at the time, it's simple to ID without measuring, and as mentioned in post above mine it just looks different with no bolt etc.

Look for pics on websites like Alta, Craven Speed, WayMotorWorks, Helix, etc... You'll see it's night and day and easy to spot an aftermarket one.

Edit, 66mm read OD not ID

I'll be in touch with you when I'm ready to upgrade my pulley Way.

Think I'm gonna need tires first though.

Standing in front of the car, the serptine belt is on the US passenger side....
The SC, and the pulley for it is the top most pulley on it....(the water pump is actually run off gearing in the sc...comes out as a pto ((power takeoff)) of it....
The alternator, ac compressor, and idler pulley, and the tensioner is also on the same belt.

Im trying to modify the car a little bit and get some more power out of it. I DD the car and its fun to beat on in at times, trying to make it sound nicer and go a bit faster.

Seems like ALTA Intake systems are nice. any suggestions is much appreciated

usually the Alta pulley will have the size engraved on it, if not it is more than likely an early 15% before they engraved them with sizes

As for intakes go with the DDMworks intake it fits the best and makes good power.

Your exhaust looks like its just a rear set of Remus mufflers.

thanks for the infos, im going more towards the better sound system, intake and power. It seems like im really liking the sound of the miltek exhaust but again its not worth throw what I have away and get a miltek and spend 100s..

as far as the intake I have removed the stock air box and put in a filter lol, till I find a good intake system with a good sound, seems like I gotta go with DDMworks. how much do they coast ?

as far as the mufflers that I got, any suggestions on how can I make this set up sound a bit louder or nice ? its so quiet lol

nvm, just clicked on the DDMworks intake link and saw the pricing and details about it, so it hooks up to the stock intake pipe. I wonder if that helps with the flow really.

Not much HP is in an exhaust.....
Best is about 5-8 from stock...so for the $$, it is mostly sound....(I do like the milteck/stratous clone).
Similar for a CAI....best to worst is only 1-2 HP....but again...sound is the gain, and consider the HP free!!

so true, and thats why its not really worth spending hundreds just to replace with I have as or right now. Im better of getting a loud intake and call it done.

so far my mods are exhaust, Alta Pulley, and trying to get an intake system then go for a tune. what you think ?

I'm running a stock exhausts with a "one ball" mod. Doubt that is what you're looking for. If you want to sell let me know.
