We've all cringed over numerous posts about windshield replacements,
stress cracks and road debris stars on our windshields.
At this time, I'd like to announce I have achieved 23,000 miles
on my origional windshield.
I'm pretty sure this post will be the "kiss of death" for mine because
that's the way it usually goes when you brag a little.
Anyone have more miles than that?
The insurance in my state replaces glass for free too. So it could last forever
on that fact alone.

22,500 miles on original factory windshield. Glass is still in absolute pristine condition and the car has seen over 10K miles of highway road trips.

2002 Cooper CVT, August 2002 build.

Ditto for my 7 month old, 2004 MCS, Sept 2003 build.

I now have 16k miles, after 10 months of motoring. In the first month the windscreen took two direct hits from gravel trucks. The chips were small(big noise though)my dealer has a glass co. come around and do their glass repairs,my MINI was in for something else, and the dealer had them fill?? the chips,no charge to me  So far nothing has changed .But after a winter of driving the whole windscreen is sort of sandblasted,so when driving into a low sun it glares quite a bit

That has got to be the most!

I have 13,000 on original MCS glass.
I know of another MC with 27,000 and original glass.

Is there an invisble cover like the bras and head light films ,for a windscreen.Like on racing helmets, tear aways.I guess optics would be tough.

54,000 miles on original windscreen - a few nicks and one 1/8" long crack. The crack is on the passenger side, lower corner, happened about 10,000 miles ago - hasn't grown so I've left it alone.

I don't even have my car yet and I knocked on wood just reading it. My Coopper S is on a ship somewhere in the Atlantic so I hope it's safe. Hey! Look out for that seagull!

I hope I can avoid some of these beauty marks that the MINI seems to get but I'm sure I will love the car anyway.

Cheers,
