Plasti-dip side scuttles

Hello,

I purchased black side markers lights for my mini, and then the wife wanted. So, I bought her the non-S scuttles. Her car is pure silver. (Yes, we have two R53s.) Long story short, she did not like and decided to plasti-dip since she really liked the "S".
I took the side scuttles off, and apart, and covered only the main part.
Thoughts??

Mine refused to budge. Tried pushing both out to no avail. Gave up before breaking anything. Easily did it w/ friends' scuttles. Must be all that gunk locking em over the past decade.

I took pictures like normal and sent from phone to email.
Then downloaded on laptop.
They open up normal on computer.
No idea how they ended up that way.

I'd thought about blacking out my scuttles as well, but then it occured to me, they might look good painted body color. So I bought a set of "Justa" scuttles and had my local shop spray them. While I was at it, I bought an extra set of door handles as well, peeled the chrome off them, and had them painted as well.

open the hood there is 2 screws and 4 nuts hat hold it on.. when reinstalling it after you spray it .. make sure your putting pressure on the hood scoop over the nuts that you are tightening or you will break the plastic that holds the bolt

Sorry, I know this is old, but did you get the "S" out of the scuttles, or did you just mask ot off and spray over it? If you did get it out, how? Also, how did you keep the mesh holes from clogging up?

Thanks!

I bought the black plastic scuttles that are on the standard Mini. Then I had them painted to match the car by the dealer body shop. I also had them fill in the holes where the front badge mounts on the hood. I also had them paint the chrome around the headlights in black. And I had them remove the rear S on the trunk lid. The whole effect is subtle but good. It's hard to tell shat model car I've got unless you notice the badges that say John Cooper Works. I left those badges in place.
