tune up and msd questions

So Im planing on doin a tune up and gonna get the msd coilpack and spark plugs and the wires , although I'm not sure if the wires are really needed ,I'm assuming they are.

Anyway I did some reading on here and read some scary things about people blowing their engines cause of the plugs , googled "ngk spark plugs" found the part number for the iridium ones which was 6418 on advanced auto parts.com than i went to eBay and says the parts not compatible?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-New-NGK-IR...7e8ac4&vxp=mtr

They are WAY cheaper on eBay but I'm not ready to save 40$ to blow an engine if you guys could confirm are these the correct plugs ? If not could some one provide a part number ?
Please and thank you

Skip the coil, OEM is prefered.
(+ unless they've recently changed something, you have to drill the MSD to get it to fit.)

NGK plugs are:
Stock-BKR6EIX
1-cldr (15 or 17 % pulley)-BKR7EIX

+1 for the OEM coil. Just make sure you apply some die-electrical grease between the spark plug wires and the coil. Saves the coil from getting the rust on the ends.
We have full ignition kits that include the grease or you can get it on its own.

NGK BKR6EIX

Dielectric Spark Plug Boot Protector

Also if you have or get the factory fitment spark plug wire: there is a little wire clips that most people have lost or will loose.

Thanks and let me know if you need anything else.

Blwnaway - very good advice. Thanks

Get NGK 4285 if you have a supercharger pulley. These are just like the facotry 4 prong plug ad are Iridium and are one step colder.
(+ unless they've recently changed something, you have to drill the MSD to get it to fit.)
What I did is remove the bolt from the sleeve and then there is no drilling. I then used a different crommet and voila. Done

The stock coil is OK voltage wise but the terminals corrode. Even after cleaning and greasing the terminals on my stock coil corroded again. I have seen many stock coils with corroded terminals. I went with the Screaming Demon coil because it fits with the stock bolts.
Here is a good ignition package:

The standard plugs are NGK bkr6equp, you can buy iridium ones (BKR6EIX) the gap should be .032" or 0.8mm. But are you using 4 prong or single.

stock style OEM plugs ( for the JCW ((or a S with a pulley..the ones one step cooler)) or the S)are multi pronged....NO gaping.
Make sure you get plugs for the S
The folks that have destroyed a motor have gotten Sparkplugs that are too long.(a guy trued using E2 or some of the NEW, burn 20% less fuel green plugs,,,).not all databases are right when looking for mini parts. So check in more than one place.
The stock coil is OK voltage wise but the terminals corrode. Even after cleaning and greasing the terminals on my stock coil corroded again. I have seen many stock coils with corroded terminals.
+1

Yup...same here....

I'd be getting the iridium ones , so no gapping required?

Get NGK 4285 which is 4 prong and one step colder if you have a pulley on.

Well i plan on getting the plugs a few months before doing the pulley , so would they be causing any damage to the ignition system ?

They would cause no issues.

Won't hurt...but the plug may run too cool to stay clean. Imo, just wait. Simpler than fouling a plug.

Thanks guys for the info
One last question so I don't have to make a new thread , does the reduced pulley run off the same belt as the water pump or is it on a different belt ?

Water pump runs off the bottom of the SC....same belt. You will want a new, Shorter belt when you do the pulley.
Doing a pulley WILL speed up the water pump...but it is OK.

When you get the pulley get it as a package with the belt and plugs and from one of many vendors who sell them. It will save you the hassle of getting the right belt.

Napa also sells the belt- the shorter for 17% pulley and the regular length one.
