Follow me home-Head light feature!
I did not get it programed in my car. so i should not have it. (I never had it)
I accidently pull the high beam light handle last night after i shut off the car and the head light came on(low beam)???
I turn the the light switch it shut off the light. i try to turn the switch and it does not work after that since i do not have the key in place.
Anyway, make the story short (I dont think people like to hear what i have been through)

If you shut off the car. and pull the key. and pull the handle for the highbeam the low beam light will come on. you lock the car and the light will keep on for about 20sconds and shut it off by itself.
I have alarm on my car and I have the EX light from the factory.

Hope i do not have a electrical issue. but what the hell it work fine since i move to the new place have no lights in front of my door(it broke, i don't need to fix it now).

Enjoy the trick

heheheheh that is a feature explained in the user's manual, I know i know it is hard to read the user's manual having this cool toy but well it is part of the fun!
very useful to get in the house when you don't have lights or in dark parking lots.

i figured that out MiniMx.
I dont think i am smart enough to crack the MINI features.
I know they have them somewhere but i just dont have the patience to look for it since i found it in my MINI.

I think the difference for follow-me-home feature is that the light automatically stays on without tapping the high beam switch.

I actually learned a couple of things from the CD Rom given to me by Mini. I also like the windows down feature when you push andn hold the door unlock feature either in the car or on the remote. Fun stuff!

My User's manual doesn't say anything about pushing and holding the door unlock. it says about doing it with the remote (I'll try it today). But it says you can have it programed so it will open the trunk instead of windows.

04 MINIs come from the factory with the follow-me-home lights activated. If you didn't tell your dealer to change the setting, then it is activated. I believe the default setting is 40 seconds.

Starting with 04s, MINI changed the activation method. Prior to 04s, you activate the follow-me-home lights by leaving the headlight on after you turn the engine off. Starting with the 04s, you activate the follow-me-home lights by "flashing" the high beams after you turn the engine off.
