A K&N is designed to be cleaned and not replaced. You can get a cleaning kit at most auto part stores.

Replace it. K&N's flow better, let more dirt through and clog faster. OEM flow less, filter better and clog slower. There is a thread on this on a Mitsubishi (?) site I saw. Quite an eye opener.

Replaced the oem JCW filter with an Amsoil counterpart and couldn't be happier. It has much better air flow at high elevations, uses same technology of the filters on the Abrams tank, can simply be cleaned with a shop vac, price was right and is said to last 100k miles. After four years in service-no problems
